We had come down for a family birthday where some of us were staying at the rv park and everyone else in hotels. Due to the rv park nature the family wanted to gather at the rv site rather than in a hotel room. We chose the rv site tucked away farthest in the corner so we could ensure to be out of the way. The host woman came charging over to us 5 minutes into our stay complaining that there were 2 vehicles parked at our site and she wanted them backed up more out of the way. We stated they were visiting the site and would be leaving at the end of the night then proceeded to move the trucks back farther into the site as she asked. She seemed upset by our reply. We went to dinner and returned with the same 2 vehicles. As we were pulling in she screamed in front of us dangerously with her vehicle and slammed her brakes in front of us while we are backing both vehicles back into the spaces she wanted us in before, to come yell at us that she didn’t appreciate being lied to and threatened us that we would be banned if we parked the second truck at our site. She then stayed parked in front of us so we couldn’t move and went to the neighbouring site and asked if we were bothering them when they weren’t even relevant to the situation. So we proceeded to move the trucks around the block outside of the rv park so we could not be banned from our site. This stay was absolutely horrible. I DO NOT recommend here. We felt completely targeted and that the owner is on a power run. We were a group consisting of two 80 year olds, a couple of 50 year olds and two in late 20’s. We were extremely polite, clean, quiet, and respectful to the rv park. I legitimately mean that we did not do a single thing wrong other than have 2 trucks at our site completely out of the way. There are no signs saying only 1 vehicle allowed per site or anything. If you’d like to be harassed, embarrassed and threatened then have fun staying here. We also put in a formal complaint to the Skagway Chamber of Commerce. If I could leave negative stars I would. Absolutely...
Read moreAny time I pay nearly $50 per night (and that was not with full hookups) for a campground I expect it to really be something special. It was not. The location is within an easy walk of town which is convenient but that convenience comes at a cost of being nearby the train tracks and cruise port, both of which came with LOTS and LOTS of noise! Check-in was simple and helpful and sites at least have some trees. Showers are an extra charge, which is ridiculous considering the per night charge but the shower cost was, at least, very reasonable and probably the cheapest we'd encountered during our travels through AK. The train noises began early in the AM as did the cruise ship horns and continued for hours. We were even close enough to the cruise port to be able to clearly hear the announcements being constantly made over ||the loudspeakers of the 5 ships that happened to be in port that morning :(. There was a tiny bit of grass instead of just gravel, as was the case in many other places but the noise was awful and made it hard to sleep well. Any time I pay this amount of $ for camping I would definitely expect far more amenities included but Alaska in the Summer is simply expensive, so be prepared. If people will pay it, they will continue to charge it. There is a State Park outside town that is very cheap if you don't...
Read moreWe just stayed here for 3 nights. The ladies I dealt with were all very friendly and accommodating. They had a few spaces open and was told to go pick what we want and come back and let them know. I chose a nice spot with bushes and a nice big shade tree. It was hot while we were there. We took a train tour and found out one of the ladies daughter's loves dogs and will take them out for walks while you are gone. She works on tips only. This was great for us as our lab would have been stuck in the RV from 7 am to 4:30 pm. They got along great and she kept her out to even help check in some new guests. My only complaint, and why I gave 4 stars, is when we checked in we were not given the bathroom code. I was lucky someone was in there to open the door for me at 6:00 am for a shower. The location is perfect, way closer to town than the other parks. Close to the dock and train station, and there is a nice little park on Pullen Creek also. I would highly recommend this RV park for your...
