I'll never do another one of these type of tours again. I went into this with an open mind, knowing it would be a regimented time crunch tour. However it was even worse, the guide who was with us was unprepared, and unprofessional, couldn't even be bothered to have information available until the last two days, by writing the next days schedule on a poster board we had to take pictures of. The bus driver was downright rude, and arrogant. Getting information was a last minute type of thing, since the guide had buddied up with a TA who was leading a large group on the tour. It seemed like information stopped with that group and never got to anyone else. As an example Covid testing was to be done for the whole group in Anchorage, no one outside of the TA's group got the information to download and preregister until we were on the train headed down to Anchorage, where service was spotty at best. This left most of us scrambling to get it done before we arrived.

I don't know who chooses the hotels that were used, but they were a small step up from a Holiday Inn. The fend for yourself for meals when you are put up in a hotel that isn't near anything is absurd. This was especially true at the Denali Park Village, where you're basically held hostage (since you're not near anything but that "resort") to over priced food choices of a $22 burger or a $55 buffet, neither of which were good food by any stretch of the imagination.

The only part of this tour I can recommend is the train, the only reason this is two stars not zero. The cars were spotless and the staff was helpful and attentive. The food on the train was far better than I would...

Premier Alaska Tours We had a post cruise extension with Viking Ocean Cruises called Natural Alaska and they use Premier Alaska to coordinate the 6 day trip. The minute my wife and I met Angie E. (tour director) and David (the driver) we knew instantly there was going to be a connection with them both. My wife and I are both former middle school teachers and facilitated countless field trips (overnight included) for over 120 kids. Now let’s face it corralling adults is harder than middle schoolers. Everything Angie did was of the utmost organized level. She a was always proactive in anticipating potential problems and quickly addressing them. She always made the call to the restaurant or tour venue alerting them to our arrival so they were ready to welcome us. Angie E made sure she got the room keys for every guest every night so they would not have to stand in line at the hotel reception desk. And to boot she did it all with an incredibly pleasant attitude. David and Angie are locals and love to show off their country and extremely knowledgeable of the areas you visit. David was cautious, safe, kind and very friendly. They both were quite accommodating our group and created a true culture of family within our 26 travelers. They need to use them both as a model for their service! You will not be disappointed actually you’ll be thanking them for a lifetime ...

We just wrapped up the land portion of our Alaskan vacation following an NCL cruise. Premier Alaska Tours (via NCL) handled our four days/three nights from Whittier to Fairbanks and our guide Charles (Chuck) and driver Tessa were both spectacular in their jobs. Balancing a group of 42 people with various excursions, needs, and schedules seems crazy but Charles was all over it. He was constantly calling various tour companies for side excursions, explaining pre-planned excursions, recommending restaurants or, at the very least, keeping us well-informed about every step of the itinerary (which is appreciated because, frankly, as a traveler, it’s all a blur and the details need to be given and repeated). We never would have considered splurging on the flight around Mount Denali without Charles expressing how amazing it is… and it was SO worth it! We had one almost negative situation while dining and Charles happened to be dining there as well and he quickly jumped in to help manage the slow service and offer a solution as well that totally diffused our anxiety not having time to eat and get back on the bus.
