If you want a company that goes above and beyond your wildest expectations to ensure that you have the BEST time possible, look no further than Rod’s.

The Basics: We did the two hour snowmobile trip each with our own snowmobiles. At first I thought it a bit pricey for two hours, but it was worth every, single penny. The equipment was clean, high-quality, and heated. Everything you needed was provided including layering advice from a highly knowledgeable staff. Everyone was friendly and thrilled that we were there. Our guide Andrew lead with a confidence and a kindness that made us feel safe to be our most adventurous selves. The first hour we took main trails to a frozen lake where we had free time speeding across the lake’s surface to our hearts’ content. The second hour, Andrew took us to more remote trails of the forest with snow banks four feet high that glistened in the evening’s setting sun. A few times he took us to straightaways where we reached speeds of nearly 50mph. It was the fastest I’d ever gone while not being in a car, and I loved every second. He did everything he could to help us find a moose, but unfortunately the moose did not wish to be seen. We had a blast learning how to track them through the gorgeous scenery. Thank you, Andrew! The trip was absolute perfection. Highly recommend... but THERE’S MORE!

The Beyond: Whilst I was having the time of my life speeding across the frozen lake, I dropped my phone. I dropped my $1,200 phone that also worked as my wallet holding my ID for my flight home, my debit card, and my credit card which was all the means of money I had for my last 48hrs in Alaska. The lake was gigantic, and my heart sunk sure I was never going to see it again. My guide Andrew did everything he could to reassure me that someone would find it eventually and started to take down my information. I got the idea that I could look up the location on “Find My Phone” on my friends phone. They told me I could drive my car out to the lake 20min and find it. I was explaining that I didn’t have a car when Rod himself walked up to us. He was concerned and listened to the problem. I pulled up the location of my phone on my friend’s phone and he said, “yep, I know exactly where that is—suit up. I’m taking you out there.” Within moments I was back in my snow bibs and on his personal snow machine. Despite him doing me this ENORMOUS favor, he ensured that I was comfortable with both heated helmet and hand grips. I hopped onto the snow machine behind him and he said, “We’re going to go a little faster than you did on the tour.” I said, “bring it on!” Luckily I grew up on the back of my dad’s motorcycle, so I stayed right with him. It was a thrill zooming across the frozen lake and through the trees. When we arrived at the phone’s supposed location, Rod stood on the seat of the snow machine and miraculously spotted it with one small corner barely sticking out of the snow. Somehow, It wasn’t even damaged. As we traveled back to base, despite taking time out of his schedule to help eradicate my irresponsible mistake, Rod still paused to point out a bald eagle. He wanted me to enjoy Alaska even while I was being an inconvenience to him. He never made me feel like an inconvenience or a stupid tourist. Though I now know to ONLY USE ZIPPERED POCKETS in the wilderness and make sure the zipper is closed. Not only did he not make me feel like an inconvenience, he made me feel like a valued guest. While he was already going above and beyond for his guest by taking me out there, he went further still ensuring I was warm, safe, and even enjoying the view. I was stunned by his compassion and gallantry. He wouldn’t even allow me to pay him for his time or resources. Thank you, Rod! When I return to Alaska in the future, you better believe that EVERY excursion I ever book will be with Rod’s Alaskan Guide Service. It is a one-of-kind company. I’ve never truly knew what “above and beyond” looked like in customer service until now. Rod’s is the best way to explore the...

We spent our whole vacation with Rod’s Alaskan Guide Service and IM SO GLAD WE DID. 1,000,000/10 recommend! I’m telling everyone I know to go to Alaska and book tours with this company. We did snowmobiles, ice fishing, and dog sledding with them! Let me break down each experience:

Snowmobiling: Josh was an awesome tour guide for our snowmobiles! He was super friendly, fantastic energy, and he made us all feel safe. We had a wonderful time and the hour FLEW by! We all were sad when we had to go back. Honestly should have booked the two hour tour because it was THAT much fun. I love that Rod’s provides boots, helmets, and even parkas to its guests, so everyone is comfortable in the elements and has a great time. Seriously such a fun tour and we would go again in a heartbeat! Thank you, Josh!!

Dog Sledding: First of all, we are dog lovers. We LOVE dogs. We booked a 2 hour tour and had the literal time of our lives. These dogs are power and such fun snugglers. Kristin and Lindsey were absolutely phenomenal mushing guides. They told us all about their dogs, mushing, and so much more. They even let us drive the sleds for a few minutes! We had breaks to get out and pet the dogs and take photos. We just had a phenomenal time out there and the 2 hours flew by. I love that Rod’s equipped us with the gear we’d need to be comfortable during the ride. We all got boots, my friend got gloves and a parka, and they even have snow bibs to borrow. When you think of an Alaskan excursion, there’s nothing more iconic than dog sledding. Thank you, Kristin and Lindsey!!

Ice Fishing: We are not the type of people who normally fish, but we adopted the whole “when in Rome” vibe so we decided to just do it. Well, let me tell you, we had the most relaxing and playful time. Noah went above and beyond putting shrimp on our hooks, making cocoa, making reindeer dogs for lunch, cooking our fish, and just being an all around solid dude. He told us stories and had such a great attitude. He had this camera where we could see the fish underwater and I just thought it was so cool. We all caught at least 2 fish (could only keep 1 for eating). We fished inside a heated toasty cabin and we also braved the elements and fished outside. We were so glad we did because a bald eagle came and landed on the lake right by us! LIKE WHAT! National Geogeaphic moment in real life. We kissed the fish, held them for photos, and got to experience a full circle of life moment where Noah prepped and grilled the fish we caught! Real lake to table service. Overall a really nice and relaxing time spent chatting with friends and other families and the guides. We would definitely do this again....

This is to express my utmost satisfaction and gratitude for the outstanding customer service experience I recently had with Rods Alaskan Guide Service. I feel compelled to share my positive experience and commend the professionalism and dedication of your team.

During my recent visit, I had the pleasure of participating in the guided Fairbanks snowmobile tour. I was impressed by the level of friendliness and courtesy displayed by each staff member I encountered. Their warm and welcoming demeanor truly enhanced the overall experience, making me feel valued as a customer.

In particular, I would like to commend the owner, Rod, for his hands-on approach and commitment to ensuring customer satisfaction. It was evident that he took immense pride in his business as he went above and beyond to assist me on my visit. He helped me put on the gears as his staff were busy helping other customers.

Furthermore, the facility itself was impeccably maintained, reinforcing the high standards set by Rods Alaskan Guide Service.

They also personally ensured that I had a safe and comfortable ride back to my hotel, through their recommended cab company. for it was hard to get an Uber ride back to my hotel.

The company truly exemplified exceptional customer service. The attention to detail and the provision of warm drinks added an extra touch of comfort, demonstrating a genuine concern for the well-being of customers as I waited for my ride.

Based on my experience, I wholeheartedly recommend Rods Alaskan Guide Service to others seeking unforgettable outdoor adventures. The dedication, professionalism, and above-and-beyond service demonstrated by your team were truly commendable and greatly appreciated!

Once again, I would like to thank you and your team for exemplifying what outstanding customer service entails. I look forward to future opportunities to engage with Rods Alaskan Guide Service and will be sure to recommend your services to family, friends, and...
