Forsgren Park — Attraction in Alderwood Manor

I want to say right off the bat that this park has wonderful soccer and baseball fields so this review is for the playset.

The playset itself is in complete and total disrepair. The suspension bridge had two wooden boards blocking off where it used to be.

The actual structure is well past its prime as the paint is aged, there is corrosion, and parts are even rusting.

The main playset is for 5-12 year olds and is rather sizable and does have some good coordination improvement aspects of it but that is about it.

Parking is a joke. If you have a handicap placard, forget having a wheelchair that is a side ramp as people park in the area designated for the side ramp vans.

There is no fence to keep kids from running into the street so there is really a lot to be said about the portion of the park for the playground...

Utilitarian and kinda boring. The baseball fields are just okay for little league. Nothing to write about. Soccer fields are pretty good. Nice playground for the little ones. The location is quiet between neighborhoods. However, there is zero shade as the whole place is wide open, so I would really only go here for team sports or to take the kids to the playground on a cloudy day or if the sun is going down. There are no walking trails. There is one trash can by the porta potties. Other than than, no garbage cans and there are no dog waste bag dispensers, so there were a few landmines in the grass. Nice park to have in the neighborhood, but I wouldn't drive here over other...

Review is solely for the playground. It is awful, gets super muddy and needs updating as some of the features are just blocked off by plywood. Luckily when I emailed the parks dept, they said this park is on the radar for an update. Will change my review when that happens.

Edit: 2 1/2 years later and the park is almost finished. I also just saw on the park project site that they will be resurfacing the parking lots, I really hope that includes the asphalt walking area that has tree roots sticking up! 🤞🏻🤞🏻(Added a star...
