We have been St Julian members for about two years. We love the Paw Paw and Union Pier locations. Everyoen there is personable and fun. They are always service forward and make you feel super welcome. We had quite the opposite experience stopping in at this location. We have never had an issue picking up our wine club selections at any St Julian. When I asked the server about this, she said we had to pick it up at Union Pier. Again, unless this is a recent change, it has never been an issue. The tastings at this locaiton are flights that come with no explanation from the server. At any of the other locations, the server goes through each selection, gives history and information about the wine, and makes suggestions. This was drop it on the table and go... Nothing about this locaiton sets this apart as a St Julian location. This could be any other tasting room in the Midwest, at least the others have a certain quality fo them that we can appreciate. We would try it again, but this trip...
Read moreI am really bummed about our experience as this winery is really close to us and we were hoping to be members with the quarterly subscription. We went on a Saturday afternoon and it was not that busy, but we had very poor service. They only serve one tasting at a time and it took about 5 to 10 minutes in between each tasting. They forgot my husband‘s last tasting and after waiting 15 minutes we decided to just leave. They don’t really have a system and a different bartender pours every time. The bartenders were also just talking about their personal life. Which is fine but please make sure your work is done first. No one told us a single thing about any of the wines and honestly I didn’t like any of the six I tried! Additionally there are no seats so keep that in mind as it’ll be about an hour for six...
Read moreTerrible Service – Completely Ignored! I had an awful experience at this place. I stood at the register with my items, to purchase and didn’t get served at all. One waitress walked by me a couple of times and didn’t even acknowledge me, not a word or glance. To make matters worse, there were two bartenders—one had no one at their counter, and the other only had one or two people. Still, neither of them bothered to help me.
It got to the point where other guests started looking at me because they could see I was being ignored. After 4 minutes of standing there without anyone coming to assist, I decided to take my item off of the counter, return it to the shelf, and walk out. Definitely won’t be coming back after this...
