We visited Castlerock recently, and we were blown away by the various armor, weapons and the history that came with everything.
The staff were extremely friendly and knowledgeable. We were lucky to be there during a slower moment, as one of the staff (John) was kind enough to lead us through much of the museum, giving us a backstory to the collection, and the timeline / history of the many pieces.
There was also great signage and facts near a lot of the pieces, so you can still have a incredible, self-led experience as well!

We were a group of 12, ages 4 to 66, and everyone found something to interest them. The best part might have been the opportunity for the kids to try on some of the armor and hold the weaponry. Read moreI've been able to visit this museum several times, for educational lectures, special events and just regular days. Each visit has been exceptional. Recently I brought a group of 20 from work on a Wednesday (a day they aren't usually open) and they were very accommodating. The volunteers are super kind and knowledgeable. They are working on installing a lift so people who use wheelchairs can see the lower level as well. The top level has lots to look at though too! Can't recommend it highly...
