Kayaked to the Waterfall last Saturday and it was gushing thanks to the rainfall we had previous days! Beautiful place and well maintained. Lots of trash in the Hudson river. Surprised nothing got washed up here.

Nice view and waterfall. Watch out for the snakes that live in the stone wall!

Wow! I sought to have this added to Google Maps a couple years ago. It is good to finally see it here. Sadly, to see the falls from above on the landward side you must either be a paid member of the Greenbrook Sanctuary or hike from the south or north on the Shoreline Trail. The sanctuary folks have a fence around the entire sanctuary (above the cliff) and a locked gate. Only members receive a key. A nice boondoggle established many years ago. I have visited only from the river via either my paddleboard (in these photos) or one of my kayaks, venturing here from my Hell's Kitchen, New York base at Manhattan Kayak + SUP (next to USS Intrepid). While you may be able to see the falls from the river in late fall and winter (if there is enough water) or in early spring, by late spring and throughout the summer you will more likely only hear it. That is if you are close enough to shore, as the trees, when full of leaves obscure it from sight---one of the best things about it. In fact, in a way, I hate that it is now on Google Maps (it is on many others, Google is just late to the game and/or lazy about what they import in terms of natural landmarks). Keep in mind though that there are still boulders just under the surface in the vicinity, some you can see at very low tide, others are just below the surface much of the time. Also, note that there is only a small, rocky beach to land on. It can, at most, handle three or four paddle boards or kayaks at once and depending on what your craft is made of you'll want to dismount a few feet offshore and lift/carry your board/boat onto the beach. Also, lots of boat traffic off here can mean big wakes/waves washing on shore behind...
