Like many people in the pandemic, I found Greenbrook while trying to be closer to nature. It is a hidden gem nestled away along the Palisades. It is a membership only Park as the focus is primarily on conversation of the land through funds. It has a number of well maintained hiking trails and ample parking is available inside the park. Members are mailed a key that goes with the lock on the gate. A membership form can be found on the gate or at the Palisades interstate parkway website. The park naturalists' conduct many hiking and observatory events year round. Greenbrook has a special place in my heart and has some beautiful views and vistas along it's trails. It's a very exclusive park for those who want to return and be involved at a...

I called to ask about their hours and they mentioned you have to pay for a membership to hike there and you cannot even go inside to take a look and see if you want to invest in getting a membership haha And if they are offering a visitor hike they only offer that two times a year and they haven’t done that in 2 years. When I called they answered the phone like it was their personal phone and it sounded like I called the wrong number, I had to ask if I was calling the right place. Even if you were to get a membership you Cannot park on the property, sounds pretty ridiculous, locals say it’s dangerous to park outside the Sanctuary. If your down for that good luck, I’m here to just give a...

This place is incredible so beautiful I love it here. The one thing you have to be a member and it's a annual fee. You go hiking I love the butterflies. You could go anytime and you have a key because the gates are locked all the time. Only you say it's beautiful overlooking New York City. Skyline is incredible. The view is gorgeous. It's Breathless. The annual fee is one person $40 a family is $60 for the year. So you know once you go in you have to lock the gate behind you. You cannot bring no pets with you. No smoking. You could download the application online. Go to NJ Palisade org. Or just call the phone number and I'll give you...

Being a Manhattanite with no car I’ve only ever visited by kayak or paddle board. And despite it making for a very long day—the voyage is a 25 mile roundtrip from my launch point at the Pier 84 boathouse, home of Manhattan Kayak Company—it is one of my favorite destinations. My favorite spot is Greenbrook Falls, despite it not being the easiest of landings on windy days (the beach is rocky there). The falls are especially beautiful in spring when we are getting a lot of rain and the forest is greening up.

Great place to come and walk around kind of reconnect with nature even though you're in the hustle and bustle of the New York metro area. My family has maintained a membership for over 50 years and it's worth every bit of money to be able to see the sites it's close to New York.
