Pine Valley County Park is nestled at the foot of Mount Laguna and is only a mile north of Interstate 8. The park has two playgrounds, one for toddlers and one for older kids. The air is fresh, and the park is large, studded with mature oaks, pines, and other trees. The grassy areas are quite expansive, and tennis courts and basketball hoops are in the center of the park. A newer addition is the baseball diamond and sports area. The bathrooms are generally clean, and the picnic tables, gazebo, and covered area provide plenty of places to enjoy a meal. The Pine Valley branch of the San Diego County Library system is on one side of the park entrance on Old Hwy 80, and a gas station with a market (with excellent pizza!) are on the other side.
