State Line Lookout, located in Palisades Interstate Park Commission, is a perfect spot to take in the stunning views of both New York and New Jersey. The lookout offers breathtaking panoramic vistas from the cliffs that make up the Hudson River Palisades. From here, you can see all of Manhattan's skyscrapers and some other notable landmarks, such as George Washington Bridge and Fort Lee Historic Park.

The park commission has excellently maintained State Line Lookout for visitors to enjoy its beauty. The trails are well-marked and easy to navigate, with plenty of benches to rest or admire their surroundings more closely. Additionally, several picnic areas are available for those who wish to stay longer than just taking photos or walking around on the trails; these spots offer grills so people can cook food if they choose to!

Overall, State Line Lookout is an excellent place for anyone looking for spectacular views without having to travel far from home – it's easily accessible by car yet still provides an escape from everyday life into nature's wonders! Its convenient location and thoughtful amenities provided by Palisades Interstate Park Commission makes this destination highly recommended whether you visit alone or bring friends. The Palisades Scenic Byway in Bergen County offers some of the most impressive views New Jersey has to offer.

Situated in the northern section of the Palisades Interstate Parkway just after exit 2 northbound, State Line Overlook is the highest point at an elevation of 532 feet, about half a mile south of the New Jersey-New York state line. This site offers astounding views of the Hudson River and Westchester County from Yonkers to Tarrytown at the Tappan Zee Bridge.

The lookout itself is open year-round, from dawn to dusk. Metered parking is in effect at $2.50 per hour on weekends. One could pay at the destinated pay station or parking app. It offers birdwatchers plenty to look at; in particular, the fall months offer a chance to spot hawks and provide access to some of the best hiking, which is where my partner and I came on this beautiful Saturday afternoon.

Following the North to Shore Trail, we hiked for about a mile north before ending at the New York border with the NJ boundary stone marker. On our return heading back to the parking lot, we followed trail E, ending up on Old Route 9W.

This truly offers an escape from the hectic city life as one hears birds chirping, which we...

We arrived later in the day. Parking lot was full so we had to park along side the road, which wasn't too terrible of a walk to the lookout area. There are a few picnic tables available and a gift shop/snack bar with some seating inside as well. A handful of souvenirs can be purchased from Keychain and magnets to books and postcards. The kitchen was already closed but a few snack items were available for purchase like chips and some sort of pastry. There were only 2 stalls in the womens bathroom so there was a bit of a line that had formed and bathrooms closed at 430pm. Im not one to use public toilets but in the instance that you have to go, well you have to go! I was grossed out to where id rather piss in the woods, unfortunately there were too many people around to do so. Place could stand a bit of a renovation. Otherwise, there...
