Secret Lake — Attraction in Alta

It was beautiful. We enjoyed the hike to the lake, managing to keep traction on the rocks as we stepped over three different small waterways that crossed our path, and keeping my footing on the rocks and boulders, some surfaces were a little slippery from the sand/loose dirt. One suggestion: I would strike “easy” from the “easy to moderate” rating of this hike once you’re several minutes into the hike. 😅Maybe I was tired from a morning Y hike, but it felt more challenging than I expected. Gorgeous lake. East to get to. 1.5 mile round trip. Saw a moose in the brush at the top. Nuts and keep your distance. Lake has gorgeous clear water. Definitely a repeat hike. Huge bang for your buck. Be sure to park at the second parking lot ‘B’ for closest trail. Restrooms available outhouse style at the parking lot. No swimming as it is watershed. Give me a thumbs up if this...

Awesome hike. Be warned, there is a lot of "this is an easy hike" reviews out there. It's challenging. Nothing too strenuous, but distance and some steep parts make it a lungburner for smaller kids. It's gorgeous, and you can continue on from here to any of the nearby mountains to summit like Mt Baldy...
