UMass Student Union — Attraction in Amherst

The new student union feels more like a sterile library than a student union. There is no sign that students work or have club meeting there, save for empty rooms that look like they haven't been filled since the building was opened. When asking the front info desk about where certain clubs meet or where the co-ops are, almost no one can answer properly, and the seating is limited and uncomfortable. It seems like the building is a beautiful empty box with little to no effort put into its maintenance or upkeep. UMass built an unusable space and it is so clearly for donors not students it is insane. It feels hollow and I am so happy that I will graduate and not have to spend another year in this space.
