One of the most picturesque places in the Whidbey Island/Anacortes area. A must see location if you love the outdoors. Use caution and if you have a small animal keep it on a leash. Keep little kids at arms length at all times as there are spots all around this area with deadly drop offs. They are easy to identify and if you are diligent the risk is minimal. My only complaint is a cell tower on the grounds that is a bit of an eye sore. You can drive all the way to the top or if you are more adventurous you can park at the bottom and hike all the way up. This place is a must visit location for the area with about a 270 degree view of Whidbey Island and Anacortes. You won't find better views in the area. I have also seen people bring rock climber RC cars here and play around. It Looked fun.

If you are visiting the area and can only visit one place, this is it. Also if you like the outdoors and picturesque scenery this is the place to go to above all others in my opinion. Plus you can see it and be on your way in less than an hour. If you are only into looking at nature for a minute, then look, get in your car and drive off. What ever the case this place is THE must see spot of the area. Try to go on a clear day...

I've been here twice to rock climb. We climbed at the summit wall as well as sunset slab. Sunset slab is a bit more of an approach but good for top rope, whereas summit wall can be access in a minute or two. Some people say that Mt Erie can have glass and such from people throwing bottles down but I don't recall seeing any at the base of the crags. Hiking to sunset slab was classic pnw hiking which was enjoyable. My only regret was not staying for the sunset. If you've never hiked or climbed here I'd say...

I love the summit of this mountain! The views are breath taking and the feeling of being on the top of the world so close to home is awe inspiring! I go up there every chance I get just to feel the breeze and have a little quiet time without the continues hum of every day Life that is always constant from traffic commerce. If your looking to make an escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life for a few minutes or hours I would recommend that you give the summit a shot you might find the peace your...
