Mt. Erie is very close to my heart ❤️ , and home it’s a place I go to challenge myself physically as well as mentally Mt. Erie has many levels of different types of trails.
The best part about Mt. Erie if you’re having a day where you just want to meditate🧘🏼♂️, ponder the beautiful world we live in then you can also just drive (yes drive) all the way to the top park get out and find a spot all to yourself.
The views from the top of Mt. Erie are just amazing you can see the Cascade & Olympic Mt. ranges the Puget sound, Skagit bay, Swinomish bay -
The singing of the birds provides relaxing natural meditation music. Not to mention the Eagles 🦅
Mt. Erie also has Bike 🚵🏼♀️ trails, Rock Climbing 🧗🏻♀️ locations, Horse back riding , and yes a lake to fish 🎣 or go Kayaking 🚣🏼♂️ dog friendly 🐶 (clean- up after your dog).
The pictures I have attached to this post were from a hike around the Mountains 🏔 perimeter a view of Lake Erie & Campbell along with a sneak peek of the puget sounds on this trail we didn’t go to the top. The hike was around 5 miles with lots of switch backs, elevation gain was about 700 feet, ground was muddy the trial was clean meaning no shrubs rubbing against my pants, the trails was your typical trail so I would suggest wear a pair of shoes or boots that can support your personal needs ankle support.
I hope you enjoy this trail as much as we did we enter at Two big trees 🌲 🌲247b and exited at ❤️Heart Lake Rd exit 215b which also known as Mt. Erie’s main entrance. If you would like to hike the perimeter. We took two vehicle because we didn’t want to walk in the streets with the dogs,...
Read moreI initially heard of this place from a friend who showed me pics of the amazing views from the top. I packed up my 2 pups in my truck and ventured north from Bremerton with the intention of hiking from the bottom, but discovered that one of my pups was nursing her right hind leg when I attempted a dog walk pit stop at Oak Harbor. A little disappointed that we wouldn't be able to hike it I continued anyway and discovered I could drive to the top. Not ideal to me because I love hiking and earning my way to the view, I made the most of it and kept the pups in the truck. Boy, I'm glad I followed through. The views of Anacortes and the San Juan Islands are breathtaking from the top! I explored around the rocky terrain and found several great points of view. I was also fortunate to observe a dad teaching his very young boys how to effectively tie rope around a tree for repelling and rock climbing. Those boys have no idea how blessed they are to have a father that embraces life and is willing to teach his children. Highly recommend visiting this place, it does get crowded at the top though. Next time I'll...
Read moreThe sunset view here is stunning. If you like hiking, the mount Erie summit trail is a good choice. It is kind of steep but the trail condition is quite nice. It is not muddy at all in these days (early spring), but you should also check for the weather prediction. Yet be careful of those annoying bugs. There are several viewpoints around the summit of mount Erie. There’s one near the summit but not the summit, which is the best view for the sunset. However, it is a little bit hard to find tho. It is near a small parking place for about three cars. For all the other viewpoints around, there are always tall trees blocking the entire view, so you can not have panorama view. For those who are not big fans of hiking, you can still enjoy the sunset view here. Since there’s a road you can directly drive up to the summit and there’s few parking spots. The sunset view here is really recommended, because you can see all the islands in the west. They just look like wonderland. Especially when the sun dyeing the sky into red. All in...
