This is a very nice public space and the Anderson Parks Department takes very good care of it. Anderson along with a lot of the Cincinnati area was hit recently by some very hard winds and there were some trees toppled in the park and I was there the next morning and at 9:00 they had already cleaned most of it up. A day later you could not really tell that much had happened. The paved Loop is very nice for walking, and some people jog there. Although you clearly have to dodge a fair number of pedestrians if you're running there and it's not a long Loop for a runner about a mile. During the evenings in nicer weather there are soccer games and baseball games and softball games, mostly for youth leagues of some sort in the early evening. These are very nice, but then the paved Loop is often blocked, not by the parents (who usually bring folding chairs and sit on the grass inside the loop) but by the hundreds of siblings of the players who run around unsupervised and play various games in the middle of the path and tend not to be very observant of what else is going on. As always, look out for those who are careless of others riding large or motorized bicycles. But at other times the park is often very peaceful and idyllic, with some beautiful flowering trees in the spring. One can get a very different impression depending upon when one is there. If the back lot is full of f-350 size trucks you know there's a youth...
Read moreWe only visited the playground/sprayground area so I am not sure what other amenities there may be. This was my first visit. My kids really enjoyed it. There was a lot of variety in the playground area so kids didn't get bored and there were also things geared toward younger and older kids. A giant sand area drew a lot of kids and had a few bigger props to keep it from being boring. The sprayground is really cute. It has a farm theme and my kids had a lot of fun running around with all the other kids. I like that the playground is sort of nested away from the parking lot so you dont have to worry about your kid running away into traffic (I have a runner!) and there was also a ledge and several benches set up around the edges where parents could sit to watch or you could eat lunch etc. The restrooms were adequate but could use some updating. The toilets are a push button on the wall that is very hard for either of my kids (5 and 3) to push. The door into it is heavy and my 3 year old got his finger smashed pretty good when he tried to run out on his own while I was helping his sister. Overall though it is definitely a really cool park and worth a visit...
Read moreJuilfs Park is a perfect family destination. They have an amazing playground area, with two separate areas- one for toddlers and the other for older children. They also have an enormous sandbox ( it can easily fit 40 kids) with a nice awning to shade the sandbox from the summer sun. And to top it off, they have a wet playground meant for children under 10, where the kids can run around and splash in the water that shoots up from jets and tumbles down from the barnyard theme water area. All these features are grouped together in one area, so the kids can go from one play area to another, without having to pack up all your belongings and move when the children want to do something else. The only drawback is the dearth of seating for adults. There are a few benches, but they are placed far away from the play areas. It would be best to bring fold up chairs for the adults, so you have someplace to sit while keeping an eye on your little ones. The park has many other amenities, but the only ones I've taken advantage of are the playground area. I noticed that there seems to be a very long walking trail on the...
