Rocky River Plantation — Attraction in Anderson

I will start off by saying this is a beautiful venue! However quite pricey to not have anything included other then table & chairs. We had our wedding here this past Sunday & had to overlook a lot just to enjoy our big day. We sadly can say now we would not recommend them to anyone. The stress is not worth it. We were made promises that were not held up on their end. It was not clean, when we toured / booked she stated that it would be cleaned before & after. The maintenance man arrived around 9. He forgot to sit the fire pit out. We also had to ask him to put fresh hay out which he rushed through leaving big chunks that were not evenly spread out. For my understanding when we booked the director would be there just to make sure everything was running smoothly & in place on their part. Did not show up until right before our wedding that started at 4:00. She was not to friendly seemed as she did not want us there. She told my wedding coordinator to text or call 30 minutes before we were done cleaning up so she could come back to do the final walk through. She came back a little before 8:00P.M keep in mind we booked the place from 8:00A.M-11:00P.M. My wedding coordinator did not even send her a text or call at that time since we were not ready for her yet. We were rushed out how it felt! She did the final walk through & said everything looked perfect. The next morning I received an invoice for the table linens that we rented which was no problem at all. They were very kind enough to let us use them when I called last minute where I accidentally ordered the wrong size. However I also received an updated invoice & email stating a glass beverage cart bottom shelf was broken that the cleaner found. We would of had no problem paying for it if it was addressed when she did the final walk through. Not only that but we never even used it. I also did a final walk through before I left & it was not damaged. I tried calling her as soon as I received her email where she would not pick up or even return back any of my calls. I instantly received an updated invoice where it was removed. The next morning she sent an email saying “ The fees for the broken bar cart has been removed.” I feel as this was handled in a very unprofessional way. This place is beautiful, yes and my daughters wedding went well but it cost way too much $4200.00 and they do absolutely nothing. 1. We were supposed to have someone on the property both Friday and Sat for any issues and we did not. The director actually took off and left her “assistant” that we did not meet until 10:30 pm on Sat the night of the wedding. We had to lock up the house and set alarms but continually got texts that it was after 11 and we needed to be out. 2. We understood that we had the venue from Friday morning until 11pm Sat night but you still have to be out on Friday at 11pm. 3. Any questions we had for the director we were told she had to ask the owner, but never got a response until we ask her again. 4. They had director change about 3-4 mths before our date but we were not notified until I contacted the old director with a question and she informed me. I had to contact the new director and she is young and not very experienced. She was very nice but it felt like she was thrown into a position that she was not qualified for. 5. When we got there on Friday to start setting up our efforts were delayed due to there being left over things from the event the night before. But when we needed extra time the next day we were told we had 2 hours and was hounded while there about getting out. 6. The “mimosa bar” was a joke. We were told we would have 3 bottles of champagne with orange juice, pineapple juice and cranberry juice but it was one bottle of champagne and Sunny D. We were asked if we wanted any sodas and told her yes but none were available. We had water and Sunny D for 8 bridesmaids. So with all this I would not recommend this...

This place is very unprofessional, We were told things that would be done and didn't get done! They said the place would be spotless and wasn't we had to clean up after whoever was there last before we could decorate. We got rushed out at 8 when we had the place from 7am to 11pm. The lady acted as she did not want us there. Which is very unprofessional since we spent alot of our money here for just one day where nothing was included. When she did the final walk through and said everything looked fine that night, the next morning tried to accuse us of damages that we did not do. Spent 104 dollars for dumb table clothes that should have been included with us getting the tables from them. 0/10 would not recommend. If you want to have a special day do not go here!
