BEAUTIFUL park! There is a lot of shade from very big old trees. The play area is unlike any that I have seen. The rock climbing area, along with the natural wood play area, are AWESOME. There is a very large sandbox. It even has a merry-go-round, now that is old school. If you prefer baseball fields, basketball courts, or tennis courts, they have those too. The big open area may appeal to some as well. The restrooms are centrally located. The decorations on the outside of the restrooms are very pretty, albeit getting old and worn. Inside, the restrooms are clean and stocked but in serious need of updating. More parking would be a great addition as well. This is a great little oasis in the heart of a big city. BUT... don't let 2-6 age children try the playset with the rock climber, it's about 15 feet off the ground and they get stuck (and terrified) up there, and Moms and Dads struggle to find a feasible way to help their little ones down. I've seen it easily ten times. The public restrooms really aren't too bad. On occasion we have barbecued here, but be prepared to haul your goods from a little ways. Read moreThis is one if the things I love about Ann Arbor. There are neighborhood parks all over the city that are so easy to walk to. If you've ever lived in a city like Atlanta you'd know what a blessing this is. I will never live in a city without sidewalks and parks like Atlanta again. Allmendinger is shady with a playground for kids and benches. There's a tennis court, baseball field, picnic tables, and bathrooms. All of that tucked into a neighborhood. Thanks Ann Arbor...
