The Old Winery Venue — Attraction in Antwerp Township

David Hartwell and I got married on Saturday July 20 2019. The day was perfect beyond our wildest dreams. It did not start there; however, it started back in July 2018 when we found the venue. The price was very reasonable for everything that was included and the wedding coordinator Ryan was amazing. She went above and beyond to make every dream a reality - answering emails, texts, and taking charge on the organization. She allowed my bridesmaids and I to come and see the venue multiple times, and even allowed my flower girl to practice walking down the aisle the week before the wedding. We were not only able to have access to the entire venue on the entirety of the day, but we used the venue all Friday night as well. Without even beginning to speak of the beauty of the venue, the entire team of staff makes the venue such an ease to work with and goes the extra mile to make you feel beautiful on your day. The venue itself is breathtaking and I heard many "oohs" throughout the day as people captured all there was to see. The cobblestone walls and two story ceremony room with a cascading wooden staircase made me feel like a princess (and that was the whole reason I chose the venue). This was the best place for my May wedding!!! Not only was it BEAUTIFUL, but it was affordable for my husband, family and I. Malissia was SUCH a big help in planning our wedding. Not only did she let us borrow her centerpieces, aisle decor, plates, cups, napkins, table cloths, cake/cupcake holders and all of her twinkle lights (all included in our rental fee), she was wonderful to work with! She was flexible, listened to what we wanted, and had the best staff working with her on our wedding day. She also recommended our AMAZING caterer, Wine and Country Catering, that made the most delicious spread for our entire wedding!! Our guests favorite parts of the venue were the exposed rock, the lighting, the museum in the basement that they got to walk through while we took pictures, and the open garage door behind our alter that showed the greenery of the vines and trees outside (without having to have a hot outdoor wedding)! We had a wedding booked with this place for 05/30/20. We unfortunately canceled the entire thing due to Covid. We placed a $700 deposit for the venue. We rebooked the venue for 04/24/21. We eventually cancelled that date as well. We were told that we would get half of the deposit back if we cancelled, which we were completely fine with. This information was provided to us on 11/14/20. My wife has reached out to them on 01/02/21. They responded on 01/04/21 stating that we would get 50% of the deposit back, to which we were happy to hear. We have not heard anything since then. We’ve sent emails and called on 02/07/21, 03/05/21, 03/18/21, and today (05/21/21). Nothing at all. Do not trust these people if you paid them a deposit and have to unfortunately cancel your event.
