At the Grotto Picnic Spot you will find the Grotto Trail which connects to Zion Lodge one mile away. The path is flat, wide and easy to walk. You can cover the distance in 15-20 minutes depending on your walking speed and the number of stops you make for photographs. We found this to be a decent trail through The Grotto, which is a meadow and place you may spot a mule deer or turkey. We heard and then spotted two turkey during our hike. Otherwise, scenery is less dramatic and scenic compared to other more challenging and exciting hikes you can make in Zion NP. Note: The Grotto Trail links up to the Kayenta and Angel's Landing trails which start across the Virgin River at The Grotto, making it a good add-on trail for those planning to walk either of these during time spent in the Zion Canyon. Note: The Zion shuttle bus stops at both (5) Zion Lodge and (6) The Grotto. You can start The Grotto Trail from either of these locations.

This is a relatively large picnic area with numerous picnic tables spread over the entire Grotto grounds. The tables are in great condition and can easily handle 8 adults per table. Also located within the area are several small parking lots, restrooms with a water bottle filling station and access to some of the best hiking trails including Angel’s Landing and Emeral Pools Trailheads. The picnic area is open 24 hours like the park but there is no overnight parking or camping allowed. This is a perfect location for hiking and after, sitting down under the canopy of a variety of mature trees for lunch or just relax and enjoy the view.

📌 PIC 13 - BYE BYE ZION NATIONAL PARK…🗻🏔⛰🌋

🇺🇸🇨🇦#monday with my friends in the most famous Utah National Park in a fun hike up to the pools. I really enjoyed the hike to get to upper Emerald pool and the falls with my buddies. The hike was fairly moderate in general but it was also a little bit steep at times and a couple of us have to rest while hiking. Getting up to the top is really the main focus but there are a section with caves, waterfalls, even saw a few animals like ducks around the lake. Highly recommend for family and hikers looking for a easier hike with high payoff...🎥📸😎🚙🇺🇸 . . . . . #monday #10minutesvlog #fabiosilvaofficialprofile #instagram #facebook #picoftheday #iphone13promax #travelusa #roadtrip #usatravel #travelblogger #roadtripusa #travelgram #photography #naturephotography #instatravel #traveling #unitedstates #adventure #exploreusa #traveler #traveladdict #vacation #beautifuldestinations #landscapephotography #travellingaroundusa...
