3.5 stars. You people dish out 5 stars like they’re candy on Halloween. The top is reserved for truly spectacular beaches. This is an average beach. Pros: Its quiet Light house is beautiful Cliffs are kinda cool The drive up the island is nice Cons: $30+ for parking Long walk down to the beach if you have kids (there is a drop off area which makes things a little easier) Lots of seaweed on the beach Lots of rocks Semi rough sand (not soft like others we’ve been to) Water isn’t clear like other beaches on the island

Travellers, this is a breathe taking beach and a must see if you are visiting Martha’s Vineyard. The clay cliffs are an incredible sight and contrast beautifully with the blue ocean and beige sand. The boulders in the water give the beach a special character that make this beach unique. It is a gorgeous beach walk through the boulders. The sand is smooth and there are lots of shells to pick. This beach has it all! So if you are in the area check it out. We recommend. TLDR gorgeous! Don’t miss!

While the overlook near Gay Head Lighthouse offers the best view of the sunset at Aquinnah (and, in turn, Martha’s Vineyard), the beach offers the best views of the beautiful cliffs that Aquinnah is known for. Not as much of a relax on the sand/go for a swim type of beach (although you certainly could do those things on a nice day), but an excellent place to walk along the shore and admire the beautiful nature around you.

We were staying on the east side of MV and decided to come see the cliffs. Beach is lovely but rocky. With the Gay Head Cliffs, it's definitely the most beautiful beach we saw on MV. Water is cold and fairly rough (similar to South Beach). Rocks, some hidden under the waves, make swimming a special adventure, and I wouldn't recommend surfing.

Also you have to pay for parking, ranging from 10 to 20 dollars. You can drop off at the beach access but then you have to park up at the parking lot and it's a bit of a hike back. Overall it's much less convenient than other beaches (Sylvia and South Beach). However, I would still recommend coming as it is...

One of MV's best beaches. You can walk a long way, past amazing clay cliffs. It's rocky in some places, but you can find sandy spots too. Nude beach is down to the right and very chill. Great swimming in spots. Most people gather by the trail head so it's easy to find privacy if you walk a bit. The trail to the beach is wonderful - through a long meadow. Parking is $30, no cash during Covid. Restrooms are near the parking lot. Wear a mask, be cool when you walk by nude bathers, don't touch the...
