Exceptional Dining Experience with Stunning Vibes
We had an incredible dinner at Outermost Inn Restaurant in Martha’s Vineyard—easily one of the most memorable meals of our trip. The setting is cozy and picturesque, the staff is warm and attentive, and the entire experience felt elevated yet inviting.
Before our meal, we ordered the charcuterie board and loved everything about it—the variety of cheeses, the jam, and all the thoughtful accompaniments. For our first course, we sampled several appetizers, each one unique and delicious: a fennel, crab, and apple dish that was amazingly fragrant and fresh; salmon prepared beautifully; and escargot with gnocchi, which was rich, flavorful, and perfectly executed.
The chef surprised us with an amuse-bouche, which set the tone for the rest of the night. The truffle-flavored pasta, served as an intermittent course, was outstanding—earthy, aromatic, and indulgent.
For mains, the Wagyu Wellington was absolutely phenomenal—tender, perfectly cooked, and paired beautifully with lobster, broccoli rabe, and seared carrots for a luxurious, well-balanced plate. The striped bass with caviar was also excellent, fresh, and well-composed (though I personally could have used just a pinch more salt).
While the desserts were our least favorite part of the evening—not because they weren’t good, but because the earlier courses had set such an incredibly high bar—the overall experience more than made up for it.
From start to finish, the service was flawless. Our server was knowledgeable, engaging, and made us feel truly cared for. We would absolutely return—this is a must-visit for anyone in Martha’s Vineyard looking for exquisite food, wonderful service, and a truly...
Read moreWe’ve dined here for special occasions over the years. Last night we went in for our anniversary. Similar to the most recent reviewer, we felt a bit forgotten about. Our initial table server decided to hand us off to a different waitress after a few minutes. From there, we routinely sat in long periods of no service. Between a lengthy gap in the first and second course, we sat with entirely empty glasses (water and wine). It was only when the second course came that we were able to prompt someone to address the issue. We were seated adjacent to the interior doorway; it would be difficult to “forget” us on your flight path to the kitchen but yet that’s what happened. Most disheartening, we saw the prior waitress who had discarded us continuing to serve our area with great attentiveness. At $200 per person, the experience was disappointing to say the least. We booked many weeks out and were looking forward to the evening. It’s a 40min drive up island. We had significantly better service down island at other high end restaurants. Maybe they’re still getting their sea legs for the season but it’s hard to rationalize coming back. When you’re spending this much money, you don’t want to be someone’s after thought. A restaurant of this stature has multiple levels of service (e.g. a guy who’s supposed to keep an eye on and refill water regularly). It’s not worth the expense to do this again. We won’t be coming back and we’re encouraging family to...
Read moreThis is my first trip to Martha's Vineyard, and after seeing most of the island, this is by far the best place I've been to. We ate dinner here and had a seating time just around sunset. I don't think you could have asked for anything more picturesque that what we got. The colors of the sky were amazing. They had a wood fire pit raging with chairs set around. They even had a telescope focused on an Osprey nest down on the meadow! This was all just the beginning, too.
Once seated, we had an incredible, price fixed dinner, predicated with an amuse-bouche from the chef. All three courses were spectacular and the service was top notch. For my starter I chose the yellowfin tuna tartare. As a sushi fanatic, this did not disappoint one bit. The tuna topped a bed of diced avocados and mangos. The dish was garnished with small, fried plantain chips. For my entree, I had the had the herb crusted cod - it was moist, flaky and full of flavor. The cod was served on a bed of mushrooms and peas with an underlying white cream sauce (very light, not heavy) and had pine nuts scattered throughout. Finally, for dessert, I opted for the chocolate brownie with vanilla ice cream. The dessert had whip cream dollops on four sides and caramel drizzled all around.
If you find yourself in MV and fancy an exquisite dinner, head to the Outermost Inn. You most certainly will not be disappointed. My experience here will be one I will most certainly...
