We've been visiting Lake Lopez for about 10 years now and it remains one of our favorite places to camp. Tons of wildlife; beautiful trees and campsites; we love the marina cafe (full bar! Great menu, and little market too!) and the fact that you can SWIM in this lake (we live near 2 lakes that are drinking water reservoirs).

They have sites with or without hookups - I do wish they had a "dump area" for RVs so we didn't have to do that in our sites - makes me pray the people before us didn't make a mess. There is a playground and certain times of year, an obstacle course complete with zip line and a water park.

We've seen raccoons, skunks, deer, turkeys, and even a bear! Just be sure not to leave out trash and don't keep anything besides drinks in your outside coolers - they'll eat the meat, cheese, and eggs for sure.

After many years of extreme drought and the lake becoming heartbreakingly low, it's currently full due to this year's rain! If you visit, please enjoy it respectfully, clean up after your pets and pick up...

Thurs thru Sun visit - the lake was up, tons of wildlife, fish not biting as much from shore as we saw on boats. Love this campground and its proximity to everything from Jeep trails to Arroyo Grande and Pismo Beach... and you can't beat full hookups for $50/night. Deducted one star as this was our 3rd visit (2nd time camping) and both times camping, the showers at the bottom of Blue Jay loop were disgusting- unusable with what appeared to be excrement on the walls. Although we can't fault the campground for uncouth behavior of park visitors, we did not see anyone cleaning this bathroom until the day we were leaving.

Will we camp here again? Yes. We are a fully self-contained 29' C-class, and we'll be prepared to shower in our own RV.

Suggestion to campground: lock the bathrooms in the camping loops, and provide keypad code for campers, leaving the remaining lakeside and amenity-close bathrooms 'public' for visitors...

We have to been to the lake before Covid..this is our first return back and the bathrooms(‘near marina) were so disgusting! Mold everywhere and the smells smh. I was so scared to take a shower let alone have my kid shower in there. One of the rangers came to our campsite and was beyond rude to my uncle and cousin over the parking situation. She was so rude that the next day the other ranger that was with her stopped by to apologize. The Marina store staff is beyond friendly and accommodating. The kids had fun at the water park until someone pooped in the kiddie pool. The staff did a great job of shutting that area down and cleaning. We didn’t do the adventure park and because there were so many of us we didn’t rent a boat like last time. My major gripe is I really wish the would either remodel the bathroom area(near the marina) or us a power spray with mildew/mold remover to make it safe...

We came on a Sunday to rent a boat and enjoy the lake. There was no wait. We called ahead to see if we need a reservation but they said we were okay because there weren't many reservations. The lake is beautiful. The staff is nice and friendly. The boats are in perfect working order.
