The collection in this museum is absolutely awesome. This is one of the hidden gems of the Denver area. I have been to many auto museums and they usually have some interesting pieces, but this is chock full of them. From the Detroit classics of the 50-s and 60-s (including my favorite 58 Buick) to true classics including Duesenberg, Auburn, Bentley and of course Mercedes and a Ford T, it is a breathtaking collection. A true must for every classic car buff! Entry fee is reasonable for the level of collection ($7).
On the minus side, the collection is not huge - there may be about 50 cars total - but the quality on every piece is just outstanding, pristine vehicles, all of them in running condition, including the Stanley Steamer. Also a little minus is that the space is cramped so you can't get get a 360 view of many vehicles, you can't walk up to their sides or backs. But at least you get close.
Service is nice, if the engineer doing the restoration is around he will talk to you about the cars, he is knowledgeable and very nice. I gave service a very good only because there are limited features in the museum, no snack bar or gift shop, but the people are very nice.
As for kids, well, I would never think of trying to organize a birthday party at an auto museum, and I'm sure they won't let kids touch the vehicles. But for an adult who loves classics, this is heaven. A truly...
Read moreI was excited when I planned to visit the Cussler Museum. What I had not expected was the incredible “fine arts” exhibit that was hiding in plain sight. As much as I enjoyed the immaculately kept vehicles from the decades past it was the fantastic hood ornaments that captured most of my attention. I would love to see the bygone era of hood ornament art brought back!
There is an incredible variety of automobiles on display here. Many of them have history of being included in movies authored by Clive Cussler. It is fun to think back on the many cameo appearances that some of these cars have made.
I think an important point to consider when thinking of visiting this museum is go for the art as much as the cars. People that don’t think they want to see a “car show” should go for the wonderful art deco and design features of these...
Read moreVery large display of vehicles from late 1800s to 1960s all of which are in running and in beautiful condition. The collection is so large that it rotates year to year. The price to visit and view is very reasonable There are good amounts of information about the vehicles, and representatives who are happy to answer any questions you may have. There is ample parking, and it is easy to enter, and ♿️ accessible. Clive Cussler has a very interesting history and is an author who writes mystery novels. I have read & enjoyed many. I know you will find this museum very enjoyable and just be amazed by the motoring works of art that are presented. Plan for an hour or two to see this treasure box of transportation history. You will not be...
