Read moreTo be clear I came to understand the construction, to view the grounds (tulips in particular), and understand the preservation/conservation of the land. Grounds are gorgeous! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I’m uncertain if private tours receive more information on construction, gardens and farming than I did on a self guided tour. If that is the case similar information is printed for those to read.
No walls are open for you to see the actual construction (even though preservation is ongoing it’s more about material items). No blue prints or anything the architect and engineers used at the time of construction. Tons of space for the information to be shared Curious how many construction workers perished due to strenuous work. Preservation/conservation information is never disclosed or shared (naturally you can see farming etc ) but statistics would have been welcomed. Wildlife on the property is never discussed (deer bears or turkeys) An email is sent to you with your reservation.
Things that should have been included in the email that aren’t. A map, distance to or from Antler Village to the house/garden. Closing time for the winery. Start and closing time for concert. Restaurants that are open (we were told everything is open but almost everything was closed.) Missed the wine tasting. Couldn’t buy a beer or dinner. Called the next day was denied entry the next day or so to see what we missed (Biltmore wanted us to pay another $50 or $138. We paid roughly $230 for the entry of house and garden An annual pass was discounted to $209 (April 11, 2025), buy the annual pass if that’s the case. Trolley driver said Biltmore would credit what you paid in lieu of a pass but when we called that was not the case)
Best part, a lady in the garden shooting pictures for guests. Not sure if she is a guest or a paid employee but she took the most amazing photo of us. Thanks a...
Read moreA very pretty garden just a walk away from the Main house The Biltmore estate is a tourist attraction in Asheville, NC. The estate includes a mansion, winery, stables, and a beautiful drive. Each of these is a treasure in its own right. You drive and park in one of the designated lots for each part of the estate. The house has at least two lots about a 5-minute walk or short bus ride to the entrance of the house. The gardens are to the south of the building and down a set of stairs. Please be careful as you walk into the gardens since one of the main roads leading from the parking lots to the rest of the estate grounds travels directly across the walking path at the top of the gardens. Within the walls are several areas showing off the various garden and flowers in a series of patterns within the large rectangular garden. At the southern end of the garden is a set of greenhouse type buildings highlighting some wonderful types of plants and displays of the houses from various organic materials. I very much liked the garden and the buildings and displays and think you...
