Many neat items to browse and choose. Very nice, however the old woman at the confectionary isn't helpful and really takes away from the experience. We had asked what's the difference between a bonbon and a truffle and she had an exasperated attitude and said that they're all the same. OK cool, next time we'll be sure to avoid this shop and spend our money elsewhere as it's all the same anyway. $15 for 4 little bites of chocolate without stellar service is not worth it. Obviously, most people come here for the experience. Not that it's the best chocolate in the world. Hopefully they can do better for...

There are always samples to try in the carriage house at Biltmore. they have Christmas decorations out already for you to purchase, but you can also buy jewelry, knick-knacks, wine, and other treats. The wine tasting is always free and worth every moment. Currently they are selling wine called Railcar. It is so delicious! If you are a passholder, you also get a discount. If you can't go all the way into Biltmore because you don't have tickets or a pass, you can always stop at the Gate House for some...

I use and share the rich, flavorful popeyes passion spinach dip to use with pretzels. The blueberry syrup is good with fresh made lemonade. The creamy vandalia onion dressing is superb and makes the salad.
