I was really excited to see the place a few weeks ago because I go to the Publix next door frequently. I have been having a really difficult time finding a ā€œgo-toā€ nail salon since moving to the area two years ago. I have had some pretty bad experiences with poor quality or questionable charges. Mind you, I am a pretty simple person when it comes to nails. I do SNS on my fingernails and gel on my toes because my nails are thin and break easily. I don’t get tips or designs so my ā€œneedsā€ are pretty simple, but it’s still been a struggle to find a place where my nails actually last. I guess I am tough on my hands because at the other places, my nails would chip/break, start peeling near the cuticle in just a few days. But here my nails lasted almost a full month (25 DAYS!). I’ve included pics of before my first visit, with normal ā€œstrengtheningā€ polish going in, I got the purple done February 22nd. On March 17th I went back to get them done again. Yes one of my nails broke/chipped, but the fact that they lasted as long as they did before chipping was amazing. Plus, I chipped it at a softball game, not doing laundry or dishes (which are ways I’ve broken/chipped nails in the past. I got the white done yesterday and you can see how well they cleaned up my cuticles. Both times I’ve visited, they’ve been *pretty* busy, but have always started on me within like 5 minutes of walking in and finished in about an hour. All of the staff is friendly and they have wine. I should also add that this might not be for everyone, but I’m immature and the two colors I’ve gotten glow in the dark. It’s silly but i think it’s cool. Needless to say, I’ve definitely found my new go-to spot!

Update: Their reply & lack of accountability further reflects their unprofessionalism. Nice try! No, this is THE CORRECT LOCATION. It was on Glenwood Ave, in the plaza where the newly built apts/condos are. Publix is about 50 ft away. THIS REVIEW IS FOR THIS LOCATION. Absolutely the worst service I’ve ever experienced in my life! I’ve been getting my nails done for over 20 years @ THE NAIL SHOP on Candler Rd. Yes, that’s the name. Mike & Tiffany (the owners) give excellent customer service and service period!!! They were very rude and unprofessional because I was unsatisfied with my nail service and simply asked them to fix it. All my nails were uneven. She said no one had time to do; yet they had time to attempt to take off all my polish. I allowed her to begin taking off the polish because I thought she was about to fix my nails. Instead she said she was removing them. How don’t you have time to fix the uneven nails, but you have time to take off an entire set? I will never return here! The tech who did my daughter’s pedicure did a great job & I tipped him $21 and tipped my daughter’s pedicure tech $11. They were the only ones who did their job and made sure to give great service. My nails look terrible!!!! And this was the completion!!!! I spent $55 for a short full set with clear gel, $32 for each of our pedicures and $12 for 2 big toil fill ins. It total I gave this business $163. I will happily take my money elsewhere that appreciates my BLACK dollar, respects their customers and actually performs great service.

Edited: My nails definitely peeled by the morning. I called this morning and they are willing to fix them. I am literally just getting settled in from getting my nails done here for the first time. Went in with builder gel on my fingernails and the standard gel on my toes. I asked to have the builder gel removed and for them to do a basic gel manicure. I also asked for a pedicure. My pedicure was amazing. However, my nails…horrible. I don’t know what the issue was with the removal of the bolder gel but they used a nail tip to take it off. My right middle finger started bleeding as the tech tried to get it off. It didn’t hurt, but that’s besides the point. The tech made me bleed a second time with the nail clipper; she cut the skin underneath my nail too close. And the finished product…once home, the gel started lifting. I’m sure it will be peeling by tomorrow. I paid $88 total! They charged $10 removal of product from both my nails and toes. They initially attempted to charge me $98 but I refused to pay for the removal in my nails because of the torture! The nail techs were sweet, but this experience was so disappointing. This was not worth $40 at all.

I recently visited Allure Nail Shop expecting a relaxing, hygienic experience befitting the prices charged and the image the salon purports to project. Unfortunately, my experience was anything but.

Firstly, I was greeted by the unsettling sound of multiple nail technicians and pedicurists hacking and coughing throughout the salon. Most were not wearing masks, which was deeply concerning, given the proximity required during services. Basic health and hygiene protocols were noticeably absent.

During my pedicure, the pedicurist attempted to wipe the paraffin wax off my feet with a hard, abrasive rag. I had to explicitly instruct him to use a warm towel, which should have been standard practice. This disregard for customer comfort and proper technique was disappointing.

I also take issue with the additional charge for a French tip. The pedicure I selected explicitly included polish, yet I was charged extra for a style that requires less polish per nail. This practice is illogical and felt like a blatant attempt to upcharge unnecessarily.

The most alarming aspect of my visit, however, was witnessing multiple workers sitting in pedicure bowls—newly wrapped with plastic for the next customer—with their street shoes inside the bowls. This is not only unsanitary but an egregious violation of basic cleanliness standards expected of any reputable nail salon.

Allure Nail Shop’s lack of professionalism, hygiene, and respect for customers’ time and money has left me appalled. I expected far better and will not be returning unless these issues are addressed...
