James E. Martin Aquatics Center — Attraction in Auburn

Ones of my favorite places in Auburn. Very friendly staff, the facility is well maintained, clean, and in good working order. Coming from swimming in many acquatic centers around the country including my favorite Georgia Tech, this place offers exceptional quality. The water in the small pool can be too hot for open swim (more like hot tub temperature of you're looking for a few quick laps) and the 5am crowd is a bunch of retirees so it makes sense but...

I learned to dive here as a kid. It was so amazing. My father was attending Auburn University. The Center offered open swim and dive for families, back in the mid-70's. They had one pool that I remember, it had three levels of high boards. Also, the springboards were so good too - I became a decent diver and a lifeguard too.
