Management has decided to close the west side access due to the new annual combo pass for both Quincy/Aurora reservoir.I have fished this lake for 17 years because it is fly and Lure only. I went to the east side to speak to the rangers about this decision and they stated it was for the $$$ as they now cant monitor who is using the lake or who is at the dog park, as anyone who lives close can walk in. I have the new annual pass in my windshield and have always fished the west side of this lake. This is a terrible greedy decision. Suggestion...... build a separate road access for the lake so the rangers can check cars for the annual pass, or use the pass box payment that has been on this side of the lake for years. This is all about greed, if this action from the new pass continues, I along with my fish club members will no longer support this lake after this year. Open up the WEST side...

It's a good lake for bass and other fish as well. The facility needs to post specific fishing rules better, and I wish the park rangers were more personable. Maybe choose to smile, but they are not doing anything wrong; they seem on edge. After checking my license, they came back and told me my PLASTIC “mock” corn kernel was not allowed and considered bait because it was not an inch or bigger. Still, the PLASTIC worms that are not an inch or bigger are fine because they do not imitate a food item the fish might swallow. The logic didn't track because what about flies or other lures much smaller people are constantly using.

I would just say be extremely careful what you bring in and check with them at the guard post. What surprised me about this interaction was the lack of posted rules and communication. Just be...

Very peaceful lake. No motorized boats allowed so the water is clean. The trails are good for hiking and biking, but the trails can be uneven and muddy sometimes, so be careful. Kayaking is nice out on the lake when it isn’t windy. You can’t stop on the island or swim, but paddling out there is fun. The trail is about 2.5 miles, so it’s a nice walk or bike ride. The place is good for exercise since you don’t have to pay to walk the trails. This picture is a view of the lake from my...

Honestly I've lived in Aurora for decades and never knew this place existed! Awesome place to see some water and walk on a soft trail. The bugs are relentless but truly spectacular for being in the city. There are not a lot of people on the trails and after you walk from the parking lot the noise just disappears. Parking is not free, but there is a school across the street that's free to park in and you'll have to cross over Quincy. A great spot to clear your mind!

A getaway in the city. Great path for walking/running/ bike riding with plenty of places to go down to the water and play on the shore with the kids. I don't fish, but see plenty of people catching fish here. We see duck and geese families throughout the season as well as a lot of other cool birds. Great sunsets over the mountains as well. I really wish Quincy Reservoir was open during the winter months, but understand it serves a purpose to be closed.
