I wish this park was safe and regularly maintained because it is so close to my house. There are consistently remnants of homeless people camping out there in the pavilion in the woods (one time they ran and hid so fast they left their sleeping bags and dinner laying out - I think they were hiding on the other side of the building - it was really scary. Thank god I have a 80 lb boxer). The doggie poop bags are usually empty.....I just wish I felt safe there. Perhaps better lighting? Also - where are the 'sweeping views' that it says on the Google maps...
Read moreGood for a short hike. Around 1 mile to complete all the trails. The path has loose sand and gravel. The paths have slight grades of elevation and some stairs. There are parking spots as well.
The trail has lots of trees giving the trail shade. It's good for dogs and has a few picnic tables. There are also garbage receptacles to throw away any trash. The trails are open during daylight hours.
If you just want to walk your dog, get away from the hustle and bustle of Austin, or sit down to eat a sandwich, then Allen Park may be just what you are...
Read moreGreat little park tucked in a neighborhood. Makes for a quick and challenging walk since much is uphill. A surprising little area to rest and place for kids to run around at the top. Very quiet, not crowded and in and out of wooded area. Be respectful since this is tucked in a neighborhood. Houses are very close to this area. And clean up as you go.
