Tacos Ivan — Restaurant in Austin

If this is not the definition of hole in the wall then I don't know what is. Got five tacos, bacon and egg, chorizo and egg, machacado and egg, nopales(cactus) and egg, and potato and egg. I asked for beans added on all of them. Every taco was great. The highlights for me were the bacon and egg and machacado and egg. The bacon was cooked perfectly. I intend to go back and make it a bacon and egg and add beans and potatoes to compare it to Veracruz's Tradicional. The star of the show was the MACHACADO. It came with cheese and pico, and again, I added beans. The machacado and egg taco, the way I ordered it, gives Veracruz All Natural a run for its money. I’m convinced Austin doesn’t know good food. I went to Ivan’s tacos, which btw is located in a gas station. This was not a red flag for me, down south toward the border there are gas stations known as “stripes” best breakfast tacos ever. Ivan’s unfortunately was not one of them. One Bean and cheese taco costs $2.98. The taco was skimpy, and was not tasty. Taco cabana has better bean and cheese. Austin, do better, get your taste buds right because this small shop does not deserve 4.5...

I work near this place and I go here all the time. I don't know what they do to their food, but this place makes THE BEST breakfast tacos (and other tacos) I've had. The flavor is just my favorite. Plus the green sauce compliments the other flavors so perfectly! They changed ownership a while back and service hasn't been as friendly since then, but it's still worth it. And don't let the location fool you; it's in a mini-mart, but as I said above, totally delicious. But...
