I know this review won’t do any good, but on the off chance that a city official see it, here we go… while the trail system is generally very nice, parking here is very treacherous and you will have your car broken into eventually. The entire parking area is littered with broken glass and busted windows. My car and 30 others had their windows torn out in broad daylight. This is a known location for this to happen and no one cares I guess. There needs to be cameras and other crime deterring methods installed here. I don’t think I’ll ever be able to enjoy this public amenity again knowing that I’ll likely owe hundreds of dollars in window repairs. The public amenities in this city are a joke and are riddled with thugs and crime.

Edit: I drove by today and noticed that a security camera tower had been installed in the parking area. I must admit that I was surprised to see this, but do feel like I was heard. This was a much needed...

So I was actually really excited about coming to swim and hike here BUT we never got to. When we arrive and parked we were amazed at the glass littering the parking lot. It’s not an exaggeration to say that in every single spot you could park there was glass in some quantity. Well we got online to check review to ensure we would find water on the hike (and later heard that the drought had dried it up pretty well) and to see what all the glass was about. Peoples’ reviews confirmed our fears about people breaking into cars and we left, deciding not to risk it. As we were driving away, we passed a man walking along the highway and away from the parking lot carrying a woman’s purse. We decided to err on the side of caution and call the cops so they could investigate further. We never found out what happened but it certainly spooked us. I think it’s best to caution people about coming to...

Love that it’s so easy to get here. The hiking paths are mostly dirt (some wider gravel in parts), with tree roots, so watch your step. Also, use the restroom before you get here because there aren’t any toilets at the trailhead or on the path and the trails are usually populated. You will encounter people with their dogs (please keep them leashed!) and I don’t know why some people feel the need to hike with speakers, but I’ve encountered it most here. Still, it’s nature and on a weekday evening, you’re more likely to get some solitude.

Sunset light quality is pretty, as you’re on the south west side of a ridge/creek bed, but you won’t get the horizon (at least not easily), as the other side of the creek also has elevation. When the water is flowing, it’s beautiful, but when it’s dry, it’s cool to explore the creek bed.

This is a beautiful hiking trail shared by bike riders and walkers. There were a lot of people on the trail. It was a cool day in late March. I would not want to do this walk in summer! About a mile in there is actually water in the creek and a place to swim and play in the water. I picked up three plastic bottles people had left behind and deposited them in the waste containers at the front of the park. Sadly, vandals have spray painted gibberish over the beautiful rock faces on the large rock walls. This is nature - public space - vandalism should be prosecuted. I am not sure how the paint can be removed from this porous rock - but it’s sad to see such disrespect for nature and for our fellow humans.
