I went here this last weekend with my 1 1/2 year-old and 3 1/2 year-old. If you walk across the Grassfield from the parking lot you’ll see a small creek you can walk over that creek instead of chairs on the far side there’s really no shade but this time of year it was super nice to be able to set up some chairs and let the kids go. We met up with some friends who had three kids the oldest being seven years old and five are kids together could happily walk up and down the creek without too much risk. The water is not deep maybe ankle high. There’s an occasional hole in the water where it’s a little deeper and you need to watch out for there’s a small waterfall, which is a good place to set up your chairs to stop kids from going in. After the waterfall there’s a Creek continues and there’s a small spot where kids with a strainer could catch the small fish that swim around there.
Everything was so perfect until someone showed up with a giant speaker and started playing trap music. That threw off a vibe little bit, but in general the creek was filled with extremely family oriented groups with young kids. I heard that this creek can really start going in the summertime or after a big rain. We will definitely be going back.
I would if you have a dog, there were dogs there some on leash some off leash. All of them we’re having a really good time. Watch...
Read moreUsually love this park but on 11/1/25, a Saturday afternoon with lots of families and young children present, a group were training at least 3 dogs to attack using whip snaps that sound like gun shots in the middle of the park next to the parking lot. The dogs were on leashes part of the time but then intentionally let off the leash to attack a guy with arm padding on. We were there trying to take family pictures with 16 month old toddlers and it was NOT an enjoyable experience. Not only was it unsettling to hear and see dogs encouraged to be aggressive in a public park with young families but we also couldn't let our toddlers walk around and wander on the green due to the danger of dogs being trained in an uncontrolled setting like this. We have dogs and we like to go to the park and have even been known to let them off leash if the situation appears safe so I'm not anti-dog. And I wouldn't think any reputable company would be willing to take on the liability of training dogs to attack in a public park off leash.
We reported to 311 but maybe should...
Read moreThis park/ trail area is adorable. It has nice restroom facilities and would be the perfect place for a family picnic and photos. The creek is an enjoyable place for kids to splash about and the trails by the creek are easy-ish (they are slick in places). If you are wanting to go up into higher elevation things change- the trails are not well maintained, are overgrown, and not clearly marked. That being said- we still had a great time and were never in any danger of being lost. It would have been nice to have markers that stated how long and where each trail takes you. When going into the higher elevations it’s important to remember that because the trails are not well maintained they are narrow with lots of loose rocks and tripping hazards- this became an issue with our 5 year old who struggles with being aware of her surrounding (that being said, she did...
