Please be aware, stay vigilant of your car and valuables at all times here. Yesterday me and my mom went here, we hid our purses out of sight, locked the car, and left. About approximately 30mins - 1 hr later as we were hiking, my mom receives a text message from her bank asking her to confirm if she was making a purchase at best buy for over $1000. Luckily, the bank detected this as fraudulent and suspicious activity and locked her card automatically. We went back to the car and as we’re getting ready to leave we noticed that the window from the driver’s side was broken, there was glass everywhere and our purses were missing. Her car had been broken into, they took everything and we lost valuables, cash, identification cards, credit/debit cards, passports, etc. Unfortunately, police is useless and will tell you to either call 311 and/or make a report online yourself and expect a call back from APD within 14 days. We left and went back home devastated, not caring much for the cash that was stolen which was over $200 but more so for our identification cards, my mom’s passport, and all the important cards and documents that were also taken. When we got back home, I checked my email only for me to notice I had received two emails from the bank notifying me that these people who broke into our car had attempted to make the same purchase at bestbuy of over $1000 using my card as well and then tried to make another purchase at Walmart soon after. Please stay safe when coming here and leave your valuables at home if you can. It all happened so quick and we’re guessing that these people are already parked somewhere watching who’s coming and whose car...

Summary: I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE.

I noticed shattered glass in the parking area upon arrival and was suspicious because of that. We parked our car with nearly 5 vacant car spots on either side. Despite questioning the safety of the place, my wife and I went for a quick walk to the trail and we were back to our car within 5-10 minutes. On our return there was a shady/wrecked Mazda Miata parked next to us and people started quickly walking away from our car. These people walked back to another group of their friends at the entrance of parking lot and started to drink/pretending to drink beer under the trees. Seemed super sketchy and unsafe. We felt lucky that we prevented them from breaking into our vehicle in seconds. I do NOT recommend this place just because of these mischievous individuals. I don’t know how they can sleep at night with such actions/ thought process/lifestyle they definitely need some help.

County or city has to preserve these natural areas and provide some...

When we arrived we noticed the staggering amounts of broken glass everywhere. So while we ate some food we brought, I thumbed through a few reviews about the break-ins. I felt uneasy about walking away from the car, so I took all valuables with me and kept the doors unlocked. I was the only car parked there, but after a few minutes up the trail, I decided to turn back to retrieve a water bottle. Two more cars were in the lot and a guy was in my car, rummaging around. They booked it when I walked into the parking lot. One car was poised to look down the trail at me, definitely seemed like a look- out. We will be avoiding this section of Bull Creek, which is a shame because the small falls we saw...

This was a fun spot to take the family. Upon arriving there was smashed glass everywhere in the parking lot. We were told by the park rangers that break ins are common at the parking area so be careful. Once on the trail, at the mouth there’s an abundance of trash that has been left by people and some graffiti but once you go further in is where it becomes amazing. Once we get a good rain in it will clear up the water and will be better. There’s good sized bass, and other miscellaneous fish and turtle striving here. I would give it 5 stars but if you have children beware as some people get im the water naked.

Went on a Sunday afternoon and found the peace and quiet that I was looking for. No one was around so it was just me and nature. Some paths are pretty narrow so be careful not to scrape yourself with the plants. Went as far as I could go and had to hop around a few slippery rocks, so wear the right shoes. Overall very chill and quiet. Saw maybe 5 people along the way. Not much to swim in but I did see a family in shallow water enjoying themselves quite well. It’s been pretty dry so I bet the water gets deeper when it rains. I’ll be going back when I need another break from society and city noise.

The trail itself is beautiful in the spring and early summer before the water dries up for a few months. But the issue is that there has been a huge increase of trash and litter on the trail. Every couple of yards there a beer can or a plastic bag or some other piece of garbage. Some parts of the creek itself are clogged with trash. There doesn't seem to be any supervision by the Austin Parks&Recs dept. lately. I'm leaving this review in the hopes that better care will be taken of such a nice place to hike and walk and relax.
