Beyond mad. Went to visit Saturday drove 20 minutes to walk in to sick kids EVERYWHERE. I have a newborn and a toddler. He went running, as soon as we noticed the sneezing and couching, runny nose and all that we left. We probably were there 5 to 8 minutes. Well not long after we all came down with a virus (vomiting and diarrhea, bad) that put 3 out of the 4 people (a newborn)in my home in the hospital. I'm a stay at home mother and haven't been out of the house in a month. So no we didn't get it from anywhere else! When I called up there to report it, they never answered the phone. I called back at 4 that same day and an older lady spoke to me and told me she had no idea what I was even talking about, that she was there and nobody was ill. LIE. Let me add how this lovely lady also told me well would you rather your kids be sick now or later when they get in school. You kidding me, you work at a library, you ARE NOT A DOCTOR. A few days later another lady called me back and I was in the hospital so I couldn't answer, she said so sorry for the delayed phone call but we've had no staff here because everyone is sick with a virus. I have that on recording if anyone would like to listen to it. The fact that parents went out with sick kids is absurd to me, but the fact that they don't sanitizer (I've been there before for over an hour and never seen this) is ridiculous. Maybe put some signs up since people aren't the smartest to know to stay home when sick. WE WILL NOT BE BACK, I can't get how my kids faces looked when how sick they were right after the visit to this place. And then to tell me you don't know what I'm talking about you've never seen sick kids, wow, liers at that...
Read moreGreat place! Lots of books, magazines, music etc. to check out. There is a magazine and book exchange area. Lots of meeting rooms. Discovery Works is a great place for kids. They have a bike rental outside and also rent guitars now too--so I'd say they're very innovative. I also like that their book request section is accessible to patrons--so you can pick up and check it out on your own instead of having to wait for a librarian to get it for you.
They also have a book sale section near Discovery Works and one of the meeting rooms. You can also often find a gallery of artwork or...
Read moreIt's a good library but there's something really stupid about having the pregnancy books on THE BOTTOM SHELF.
Edit: What a passive-aggressive reply. A library is a great resource for the community you serve. Try being more accessible (lots of women in their 3rd trimester!) than inconsiderate. And a bit more professional when someone brings criticism up.
FYI, there are zero books on the very bottom in that section of the library. The last shelf with books on it happened to be pregnancy books (a very small catalogue in your 300k collection), so yes, the bottom shelf....
