Donaldson Park — Attraction in Avon Park

It was nice clean and peaceful. .until a police officer pulled in and sat there watching me for 20 minutes and then pulled up closer and had his lights on me for another 20 minutes and then finally walked up to me asking me for my ID for no reason at all and then ran my name only to see if I had a warrant thru data base when there was no probable cause n then when he couldn't arrest me for doing nothing wrong he informed me on a Saturday night I wasn't allowed to sit at a public bench by the lake so I walked back home . But until then for a brief moment I was enjoying the peaceful...

Love this place a few rude people there my son almost broke his legs he is 9 and young teen age mom walked up and put her baby's down just learning to walk and they walked right to the swings where my son was in full swing and he had to drop off the swing so he wouldn't hit the baby's and she looked at me like what and I said can you get your baby's there were 2 and she just looked at me like I was dumb I was like ok dumb ads I told my son good save bubba high 5 it's a good place for your kids to play but you got to watch out for dumb people just saying...

This is a nice place. It used to be better though. As with everything else in the city, it has not been taken care of. At least it can't be torn down like everything else lately has. Also. Lately, the lake has signs in front saying "closed. Cancer and reproductive harm". EDIT; A year or so later, it seems that some of my problems have been confrontated and fixed. They cleaned some of the playground, they filled the beach up with more sand, removed all the overgrown grass in the sand, and very much so improved the bathrooms! I'm boosting my rating from...
