This is a huge Park. Wish there were more guide signs to know everything this park offers. I'll tell you about it. You'll love it. There 3 main areas and they are all a far distance from each other. It is like an Isosceles Triangle with the dog park at the farthest West point away from everything with a token little toddler's park next to it with a bathroom across the parking lot closes to the soccer fields.
In the very center of this triangle right by the main soccer fields is a large concession stand with bathrooms on it's west side. The parking lot driveways are a little confusing at first when trying to find the way to go to where you want.
On the corner, right by the entrance is the fishing pond with a beautiful Japanese Lantern garden on a little island extending out into the pond. A cute, brass capped bridge lets you cross onto the island into a circular shaded structure made of thick logs, you can sit and relax as you enjoy the view. The pond's pump station has 3 beautiful murals. There are ducks to feed and a free lending library box station where you may take a book to read as you enjoy the clam of the park. If you choose to take a book just please bring another book to leave in it's place. The children's play area across the parking lot at the pond has a wonderful music stations and the newset design in climbing equipment, although it is wood chip covered under a shaded tent. It also has it's own bathroom.
Past the baseball fields to the South East corner of this park is another wood chipped play equipment area next to the splash pad and really nice quality grill and picnic pavilions and bathrooms.
That's then thing I love about this park, easy bathroom access. While I was there i saw several trees being readied for planting. Give 10 years, there will be some very nice mature trees...
Read moreBeautiful atmosphere and we had a wonderful time. We enjoyed dinner at the park. Along with others that had the same idea. The fishing pond with the geese and ducks was awesome to watch. Many of all ages came to fed the many different kinds of birds that were in the park besides the geese and ducks. The birds(the geese) are so use to being fed until they come right up to you and eat right out of your hands. The younger kids thought that was so amazing. Many different playing equipment for the kids to play with on the playground. Musical instruments on the play ground for the kids to play with, the jungle gym, swings and different playing equipment. A baseball field to practice and play games at. What looked to be either an area to practice Soccer or to officially play. Was a little unsure because I was the one driving. While, checking out what each area in the park had. They had a basketball area to the ones who is there to enjoy the park and you also could come out to enjoy fishing as well in the pond full of fish. Many things to do for...
Read moreThe dog park is my primary reason for visiting the park. We have a small dog (under 20 lbs) and always use the small dog fenced open area or when available the empty fenced areas for dogs.
As of late there has been less adherence to the rules. Often times there are people with very large dogs in the small dog fenced area (even while the large dog area is empty)
The maintenance of the dog areas are another issue. We often have to ward off our dog from ant infested droppings from other dogs and are weary of the ever growing number of snake, rodent holes popping up throughout the park.
Lastly the lighting at night is not consistent. The park is open till 11pm but we often find it hard to find the our way in the dark.
WE CURRENTLY USE ANOTHER DOG PARK IN SURPRISE AND NOW THAT WE'VE MOVED GO TO A LOCAL...
