MAE Fine Foods — Restaurant in Avondale

I cannot gush enough of this place.

My mother-in-law, my two kids, and I stopped by to get some macaroons after spotting them off the freeway on the way home. The gentleman and owner, I can't remember his name, was SO kind. He was patient and funny with my young kids, and then even offered to take us to the back where they make the goodies! After we bought some macaroons, we headed to the back where he showed us the freezer and let my kids load up on stuff. He gave each a bag and just started throwing stuff in their bags. I think they were rejects, but they sure tasted good to us! My kids were so happy. He showed them the giant mixers and told them a little about the process. He was such a gem and kind gentleman, and made my kids' day because they got to see where the magic was made (and taste some of that magic!). This was a week ago and we still have treats for weeks.

I just want the owner to know how much it meant to us for him to go out of his way, above and beyond his commitment to his customers, and make us feel special. His desserts are seriously delicious and quality, but his customer service and dedication to his customers is what will keep us...

Wow! This little place is the most pleasant of surprises. The customer service is absolutely top notch. We were treated so amazing and when we went in it was 30 mins to close. The chefs/owner was such a nice guy and really helped pick some great items that blew my husband and I away with flavor. The bon bons are delicate, nice little crunch in the outside with such smooth fillings on the inside. The hazelnut flavor was perfect on texture, had some crunch and pieces of nuts inside. The macarons were some of the best I have ever had. Flavors were spot on and the texture of the outside was everything I’ve been craving for months. We also got some of the plated desserts, once again nailed it! Our favorite was the chocolate strawberry. In all, this little place is my favorite and will continue to be a stopping place. If you haven’t been, give it a try, the gift ideas are endless here, the customer service is perfect and the products themselves, well they speak...

So, we came in to the shop on Saturday, just because we were next-door. Little did we know we were in for an amazing experience. Rich was one of the most kindest, empathic men I've met. He was so kind to our son, and genuinely excited to show everything to my son, and has an amazing passion for his family work. Their food is not just amazing but absolutely beautiful!!! You come here and you are eating art. The experience we had at MAE was amazing. Their boxes of treats will make for great gifts. If someone got me this I would be confused if to eat it or hang it in my fridge. I recommend the coffee flavor Bon Bon, they are the perfect blend of chocolate and coffee, usually the coffee is overwhelming. But this was perfect.
