8-Bit Aleworks — Restaurant in Avondale

Had a friend come out of town and was really excited to show them this very hidden and very cool bar. This friend has a service animal that is needed for when they are out in public, as soon as we walked into the bar the bartender approached us and stated the animal was not allowed in the establishment. The bartender did it in front of everyone, the whole bar seemed to stop and look at us at the front. We stated the animal was a service one and that they can’t do that, he reiterated the animal had to wait outside or we can get something for takeout, he wasn’t sure what the actual rule was and offered us to talk to the boss. The damage had been done to my friend and they felt very uncomfortable so we left. As we were leaving he said it was due to their liquor license or something. My friend left a review only to be responded with by the bar that my friend did not do their due diligence in answering the bartenders questions that they never asked, as if my friend didn’t know the rules of having a service animal already and tried explaining it to them. I would not be writing this review if the poor response from the bar hadn’t been a complete and total lie, conduct proper training for your employees and check their integrity. All I can say is wow! This place is amazing! I cannot overstate how enjoyable my experence was, simply put if you love videogames and board games this is the place for you. The staff is extremely friendly and always willing to strike up conversation and answer any questions you may have. The offer excellent recommendations whether you are a casual drinker or an aficionado. Being a brewery of course all thier beers are made on site and they are more than willing to help you step outside your comfort zone when choosing your next beverage if that is something you are intrested and willing to do. The bar has an incredibly quirky nature to it! The bar's aesthetic is themed around games from the era of the NES to 8-bit renditions of more modern video games.

A short, yet unique, set of brews is availabke while simultaneously offering the opportunity to indulge in iconic NES games for those who wish to feel nostalgic or for those who want a different ambience, a large variety of board games can be borrowed to pass the time with friends.

Special events are occasionally hosted allowing patrons an opportunity to celebrate the bar and its theme in a different manner.

Staff is very friendly and sociable creating a very positive, easygoing ambience for the patrons. Their mannerisms are quirky in the same way that the bar's thematic execution is unique.
