I used to go to Irwindale to take energy classes at Edison. To me that area is very hot, dry and industrial. Then I leanred I have cancer when Covid19 shut down everything. I wasn't able to travel anymore but walking/jogging was allowed. Trails were closed. I staetrd walking to areas that weren't open but allowed me to connect with the nature. Fee weeks ago I found several parks in the map. I took the train to Azusa which took more than an hour from downtown LA. Then I walked to the Pioneer Park. I noticed there there more parks nearby. There are barely a few visitors, and it doesn't feel very safe to stay too long or late into the evening. It is not a bad neighborhood, with old houses and decently maintained lawns and appearances. I'm surprised the city couldn't utilize more tax resources to beautify it a little. One could say this is somewhat of an eyesore and sets the tone for undesirable characters...

The river doesn't flow through it anymore still looks neat. This park has a lot of sentimental value to me picnics when we were kids playing in the grass when I got older drinking in the bushes, first kisses, first heart breaks, smoking hookah in the playground while it rained.
