Best Teriyaki: Tasty Food with Some Drawbacks
Best Teriyaki is a small, unassuming restaurant that has built a loyal following thanks to its flavorful dishes and friendly service. Located in a modest spot, this eatery is known for serving up delicious teriyaki and other Asian-inspired meals. However, there are a few notable drawbacks that potential diners should be aware of before visiting.
Ambiance and Setting: The restaurant's ambiance is casual and straightforward, with a no-frills decor that focuses more on the food than the surroundings. The seating area is limited but comfortable, making it a good spot for a quick meal rather than a lengthy dining experience.
Food Quality and Variety: The food at Best Teriyaki lives up to its name, with dishes that are well-seasoned, fresh, and generously portioned. The chicken teriyaki and beef bowls are particularly popular, known for their savory sauces and tender meat. The menu also features a variety of other options, including sushi rolls, tempura, and bento boxes. However, a common issue is that the restaurant often runs out of key items, leading to limited choices for late-day diners. It's not unusual to find certain favorites unavailable by the time dinner rolls around.
Service: Service at Best Teriyaki is generally friendly and efficient. The staff is welcoming and quick to take orders, but the small team can sometimes lead to longer wait times during peak hours. Despite this, the overall experience with the staff is positive, as they work hard to accommodate diners and ensure a pleasant visit.
Important Details: One critical point to note is that Best Teriyaki is a cash-only establishment. This can be inconvenient for those accustomed to using credit or debit cards, so it's essential to come prepared with cash. Additionally, the cash-only policy isn't always prominently displayed, which can catch some visitors off guard.
Overall Experience: Best Teriyaki offers tasty food that keeps customers coming back, but the experience can be marred by a few significant drawbacks. The cash-only policy and frequent unavailability of menu items can be frustrating, especially for first-time visitors. Nonetheless, the quality of the food and the friendly service make it worth a visit for those who are prepared for these quirks.

While Best Teriyaki serves up some of the best teriyaki dishes in town, potential diners should be aware of the cash-only policy and the possibility of missing out on certain menu items due to stock issues. With a bit of planning, a visit to Best Teriyaki can still be a satisfying and...
Read moreI ordered a to-go plate of beef teriyaki, but when I got home, I realized they had given me a chicken plate with Mexican rice instead. I tried calling the restaurant immediately, but it took four attempts before anyone picked up. When someone finally answered, I explained the situation and asked to exchange the order. The person on the phone responded rudely and told me, “We’re about to close, just come back tomorrow,” in a very unprofessional tone.
I also asked why the rice was different—normally it comes with white rice, but this time it was Spanish rice. He said, “Oh, the owner brought that to make up orders because we ran out.” There was no notice or communication about this substitution, which would have at least given me the option to change my order or cancel it entirely.
The next day, I called again. The same person recognized my voice and transferred me to someone else—presumably the manager or owner (they didn’t identify themselves). I explained everything again, only to be told, “You should have just come back yesterday.” I reminded him that his employee told me to return the next day. After a long, frustrated sigh, he finally agreed to refund me—but not before making it clear he was annoyed.
This was one of the worst customer service experiences I’ve ever had. They changed the food without informing me, gave me the wrong order, were rude on the phone, and made me jump through hoops for a refund.
To anyone ordering from here: BEWARE. Always check your food before leaving. I wish I could give...
