Anthony Lakes Ski Resort. This gem is so worth the trip out to Eastern Oregon. An independently owned ski hill with a long history and strong sense of community. It's a locals mountain that welcomes the visitor. Amazing snow, great staff, fun inbounds skiing with endless back and sidecountry terrain. AFFORDABILITY!!! Cannot stress enough how incredibly priced everything is here. Lift tickets, food (yummy) and drinks (huge local taplist), rentals, lessons, even the snow cat guided ski trip is well priced. At 900ft of vertical, it doesn't have long runs but the mountain has some nice terrain features that make up for it. Also, at a base elevation of 7,000ft, the snow is wonderfully dry. There is also a well groomed 10km Nordic trail for cross country skiing. The scenery is...

This is definitely an undiscovered gem of a ski area. It's location is definitely off the path about 40 minutes from Baker City in far eastern Oregon, but it does get some of the best and lightest snow in the Pacific Northwest. It really only has one lift and limited runs but for the price it is extremely affordable for family skiing. The staff is extremely helpful and friendly. Definitely a small resort area feel and vibe. I talked to one person who goes there every year from Portland as it is cheaper to spend the weekend in Baker City and ski the area then one day of skiing in the...

What a great place to learn to ski! I took my 4 children ages 9-18 for their very first skiing experience. I paid for a private lesson for our family. It was just $60 for the first and then $40 for each additional person. The instructor was amazing! He went way out of his way to help my kids learn. After the lesson was over he kept checking back on us through the day and helped them as they improved.

The cost for rentals and the lift tickets were a bargain! The entire staff was super friendly. Can't say enough about the great experience...

Was driving between SLC and PDX and had my gear in the car so decided to do the quick detour off i-84. Easy drive up, caught a storm day- so snow was good and filling in every other lap. It was short, but the terrain was awesome with some great featurers. The parking lot was full, but NEVER waited in a lift line. The bar has an very cool vibe and friendly staff. For what it is, I was VERY glad I stopped at A-lakes and would go back. I hit the hotsprings in Lagrande after, to complete the day. Thats another review.

What a hidden gem! Visiting Baker City and decided to drive up to the Anthony lakes ski resort. Amazing views and beautiful easy 1 mile walk around the lake. The Starbottle Cafe has a delicious menu of local fare: woodfired pizza, sausages, beers and ciders. The staff is informative and very friendly. This is a low frills type of place,, but great food at a very affordable price and the pristine beauty of the PNW is more than worth the 30 minute drive up.
