One of the most beautiful campgrounds I have ever visited, and I have seen many. Well maintained, incredibly pretty with all the heath and fragrant trees, everywhere boulders, and a lake whose little tree island sits in front of Gunsight Mountain as if painted by Kinkaide just for you. Also pretty quiet due to good site separation, if you don't count the insects you need to guard against. The lake showed pleasant busyness with paddle boards and diverse small craft whose presence can't be refused for the sheer beauty of this in place! Great family campground. We tent camped here with no issues. Spacious camp spots with lots of space between neighboring camp sites. Clean bathrooms. No showers that we found. Lake is nice - okay for swimming. Lots of trail heads off the campground for short day hikes. Highly recommend. Pro tip - do the Crawfish Lake hike. Go past the ski resort, several miles (it’s on the left and we’ll marked) (don’t go to the Crawdad Gulch the first one you come across- keep driving another mile or so) Great swimming at Crawdad Lake and scenic very...

Beautiful, peaceful, and grounding. The lake is stocked with trout and accessible with non motorized boats. Numerous trails around the area that are easy to do including the Hoffer Lake trail which leads to a beautiful mountain lake. Gunsight peak trail gives an exceptional view of the surrounding lakes. Vault toilets that were in great shape. Some of the camp sites are reservable with the tent sites being first come first serve. This is one of the best camping...
