Could be a very nice trail!! Emphasis on “could be”, because it isn’t well kept. There is trash, glass, liter, debris, fallen trees, and recently a downed power line where we had to completely detour through city to get downtown. The Wilkins Ave TH- people have dumped old, unwanted house junk, and construction parts along the trail. It’s really sad. Lots of fallen trees at Windsor Mill TH where you have the gravel/rock path. TH at West Baltimore St. cannot be traveled due to trees and power line down. You have to take N Franklintown Rd over to Frederick Rd to get downtown. I’ve reported these issues to 311, but who knows when they will be addressed. The trail is fine beginning from I-70 TH, but stopping at Windsor Mill TH. After that, I wouldn’t bother especially if you’re trying to bike downtown. I beg of the city to address these issues and make this trail nice. It can be beautiful and a place that can attract people to visit. It’s a great alternative to driving a vehicle into the city, so please clean it up. Until then, nearby trails like Jones Falls, B&A, and BWI are great options for hiking,...

Read moreGwynns Falls Trail is a great hidden gem for those looking to enjoy nature without leaving Baltimore. The trail winds through a variety of landscapes—from wooded areas along the stream to open park spaces and historical landmarks. It’s ideal for walking, biking, or just taking a break from the city buzz.
What really stands out is how much green space you can explore so close to an urban area. Many parts are peaceful and scenic, and the trail connects several parks, which adds variety to the experience. While some sections could use better upkeep and clearer signage, most of the trail is in good shape, and it's clear that efforts have been made to improve it over time.
Overall, it's a solid outdoor option for locals and visitors alike. It’s not perfect, but it’s definitely worth spending a few...
