We recently stayed here for the weekend for my birthday and didn't have the best experience. First of all, we were told we had the lodge but were never told that the owner stayed upstairs. He was extremely unfriendly from beginning to end. We did not feel welcome. He didn't even greet us when we got there and shined a flashlight in our faces. He followed us around everywhere! He got onto to us the first night for noise before our whole group even got there. He also got onto part of our group for getting in the hot tub. The contract that was sent to me is not the same as in the cabin so it did not say you couldn't get in the hot tub after certain hours. He also got onto to us for parking in the wrong spot. The contract says there's designated parking but there are no signs. Basically they need to make sure that all of their contracts that they email out as well as use in the cabins need to be on the same page and if they are so concerned by music playing then they need to add a line in there about keeping noise to a minimal. Read moreKim and Ray are the ultimate hosts! Their impressive cabins are immaculately clean and spacious, and we were able to rent out the entire property for the weekend of our wedding to house our families. It was pretty incredible to have the whole place to ourselves and it felt like our very own retreat! We held our reception at the Barn and could not have asked for a more perfect—and insanely fun!—venue. Our friends and families had the most amazing time, and we are so blessed to have stumbled upon this gem of a place nestled in the heart of the high country. It is evident that both Kim and Ray truly love what they do, from their warm hospitality to all of their time they so generously gave us as we hashed out all the details in the months leading up to our big day. Kim is as much a wedding planner and event coordinator as anything else! I could not recommend this place enough and look forward...
Read moreMy wife and I stayed with these kind folks for a month. The cabin units are absolutely beautiful and can comfortably sleep four people. The place came fully equipped with everything that we needed so we didn't need to bring much with us from home. The kitchen had newer appliances including a dishwasher. There is a large Jacuzzi tub in the bathroom with a stand up shower( there was also plenty of g(hot water for everyone to bathe) If I could give more than five stars I would. Ray and Kim(the owners) are wonderful people and there property is amazing!! If your going to Banner Elk or near by, plan your stay here. I promise you will...
