I loved this show! From the moment I entered the property I was impressed by the down home friendliness of the place. The rebuilt amphitheater is gorgeous. You should arrive an hour early to take advantage of the free pre-show backstage tour. The story, acting, and music is top notch. I love Stephen Foster’s music and this show featured all of his well known and many of his lesser known songs. The story line based loosely on his life takes some liberties for sake of expediency, but it does truly represent the racial biases in black-faced minstrels of that time (without getting too heavy) and how Foster’s music was an attempt to rise above that. If you’re looking for an evening of beautiful music and great entertainment in an outdoor setting, you will not be disappointed! #doodah

Our first time attending. A very enjoyable performance and professionally accomplished. Obviously, this is a mostly professional cast with a great passion for what they do. Our family is very musical and we appreciated the great talent. We would highly recommend it so you can meet the man behind some of the world's most famous songs. I bet you will learn something you didn't know. (Oh, and the ticket prices and concession did not try to bankrupt us - thank you). Great job cast!!

I’ve lived in Kentucky since 1995, but until last year I had never experienced the Stephen Foster Story. We saw it again this year and plan to see it every year going forward. It’s an excellent production and a beautiful outdoor amphitheater experience. They have some food, snacks, drinks, and adult beverages, all reasonably priced. Having said that, historic Bardstown, Kentucky has some wonderful restaurants and architecture to appreciate. Plus lots of bourbon…need I say more!

Me and my wife attend several shows at the Stephen Foster Amphitheater and have to say Joseph and the Technicolor Dreamcoat was very Extravagant musical. The Narrator, Joseph and the rest of the cast did tremendous with singing, dancing, acting and the humor through this musical. Also like to thank the people who did the renovation on the Stephen Foster Amphitheater. The sound, lighting and the upgrades made tonight’s event GREAT. Only thing I was disappointed on that there where to many seats open. This should had been sell out and people your missing a lot. We travel many miles to see the shows here and almost quit coming cause the upgrades it was needing. But with the upgrades and the TREMENDOUS cast and the rest of the crew back stage and the ones that helps upfront staff that no hears or see that makes Stephen Foster Amphitheater a must to visit and see. I like to thank you all and the cast of Joseph and the Techinocolor Dream Coat again for Extravagant ...

Magical! So fun to see an outdoor musical. Learned a lot about Stephen Foster, that I didn't know, including some of his less recognizable music. Great outdoor amphitheater and seats had backs. Play was 2 hours long plus a 15 minute intermission. Parking is rather spread out and arriving 20 minutes early had to park in one of the further away lots. Amphitheater was only about 20-25% full. We bought our tickets the afternoon of the play. You can buy them online for an extra charge. Even if you don't buy online you can see which seats are already sold by going through most of the...
