Covell's Beach — Attraction in Barnstable

This is a family beach and looks like they restrict usage during the summer months to local residents only. As there are signs everywhere. It was off season this past weekend when I was there. My family about 15 of us came here to take time for our goodbyes after a lovely weekend wedding of my niece . There were many local residents here and they were kind to us. If you have dogs bring their leashes and be respectful as it's a nice group of people and it feels like they are welcoming us into their homes. They are friendly and only deserve full respect from any visitor...

Do not bring dogs! - even "after hours"... NO DOGS ALLOWED from May 15 - Sept 15, means at all hours of the day. Take extra care in 2022 as there are nesting endangered seabirds!

Great beach for families of all ages. The waves were very small or nonexistent most days, which made the water more enjoyable for my 3 year old in her floaties. The sand is a bit coarse and not the best for building or sculpting but still fun to play with. There is a short boardwalk to the beach if you want to bring a stroller or wagon.
