A nice park with plenty of fun things for kids to do including a monkey bridge! Right on the Fox River Trail, this park is an easily accessible portal to adventure.
2024 Edit: After a recent visit, I noticed a handful of changes that I must relay.
The first is that the playground has been completely reworked and no longer has the monkey bridge.
Red Oak Nature Center recently built a second building next to the park, it's purpose which I am currently unaware of.
The pavilion of the park has had its roof removed and now only metal posts remain.
With all of these changes in mind, it is still a decent park to visit during a bike ride or on a walk, but sadly it is no longer the same glorious park...
Read moreNice, new playground in the nature center, but it wasn’t interesting enough to my kids’ interest long enough to want to stay more than 15 minutes. It seems they recently revamped the playground, so it has a VERY different vibe from the nature-based treehouse it seems to have had before!
There was a nice picnic area that was covered and both accessible and regular port-o-potties were on-site and clean (even if the toddlers said, “peeyoo”). The trails are nicely paved and would be so nice to enjoy on the bike! There was even a bike pump near the bike racks and an EV charger in the ample...
Read moreIt was nice and clean, BUT I saw a little girl about maybe 8 years old slip and fall down a very steep rock climb wall. Almost a straight vertical teen/adult climb!!! She slipped all the way down!!!! I asked if she was okay and she said yes, BUT she was definitely hurting bad!!!! This is a teen park NOT a child park!! That being said my 4 year old had fun BUT I was hands on with her the WHOLE time!!!! The girl that fell was with some kind of summer camp and the lady's watching were not paying attention!!! I had to inform them of the incident!!!!! Teen park only!!!...
