The LSU Campus Mounds or LSU Indian Mounds are two Native American mounds, likely of the Archaic Period, on the campus of Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. The 20-foot-tall (6.1 m) mounds are commonly thought to be more than 5,000 years old. They predate the Great Pyramids of Egypt. Very cool to look at. Despite years of erosion, people attempting to drive over them and so forth, they are fenced off to prevent further damage. These are thought to have been used for rituals and not burials.

This sacred place is a tourist attraction. Many people visit, but few have little understanding of the significance. All mounds are places of celebration of the aboriginal ancestors who occupied this land before colonization. ✌🏾🤎🏹🪶 Put some respect on it when you visit.💯 #BCU

We went on a Sunday so we did not have to pay to park. It was very informative and so neat to know the history. It was also right next to the stadium which I wanted to see, so that was a plus

Was totally fenced off. Didn't see a sign at the location. On a LSU website, I found information about the preservation goals. It is humbling to know that ancient people worked with intention here. And that the current care takers are intently working to...
