I had a terrible experience with the Magic carpet flooring company. To start off, I called the store and talked with Tony and gave him all the basic info of my square footage and exactly what I wanted in each room, and he quoted me at around $1,100 over the phone, which sounded good to me, so I set up an appointment to have the place measured out and the flooring installer measured it to be exactly what I said which was 1200 ft.², but when I talked to Tony, the next day, he said the price would be around $2600! I was like what do you mean $2600, That’s over twice the amount of what you quoted me over the phone just a couple days ago?! but he’s just like oh sorry I was wrong, my bad. So after I had a few more flooring companies came to my place and gave me quotes, I still decided on magic carpet, because they were slightly cheaper than the others. So I went to the store and met with Tony and had him show me the flooring I was going to receive, which was carpet and LVP click. Everything looked good, and I was glad to move forward, but then the day before the installation, I just figured I better swing back in there and double check and make sure everything was good to go, and thank God I did, cause Tony tell me that I’d be receiving regular vinyl and carpet. So I’m like what happened to the LVP that you showed me the other day? And he’s like oh that’s not what’s on my paperwork, and I’m like I don’t know what’s on your paperwork and I don’t care, I just know what you showed me the other day and it was the LVP click flooring, not regular vinyl, so that’s what I want. And he says well vinyl is what you’re going to get because that’s what it says on my paperwork, so I got a bit loud and said I don’t give a damn what’s on your paperwork, I care about what you showed me and what you told me I was going to be getting, so you lied! At that point one of the other flooring guys comes out and says hey Tony just cancel the job and I’m like yeah I cancel the job because you’re a crooked liar! So needless to say, I didn’t go with...
Read moreEd came and did an initial assessment for carpet stretching, walked thru each room and gave me a quote of $375.
Scheduled to do a carpet stretching about a week later. I told him I would be able to get all of the furniture off the carpet except for large bunk beds. He said that they would do their best to work around it. Again we walked thru each room and I showed him where the carpet was pulling up.
When the worker came and did some prep work he told me he was only allowed to work on one bedroom. When I asked why he immediately told me to call Ed. He then tried to charge an additional $150.
Feels very much like a setup because he knows our furniture is out and it would be an inconvenience to call another company. But he was very prepared to change an additional amount.
Bad business, I highly recommend calling a...
Read moreWe had a giant space that was in dire need of flooring after pipes breaking and messing up the room. Not only was Greg and Tony and team professional, they were AMAZING to work with. Construction cost us multi delays, we had two separate floor heights, and were doing vinal and carpet. But the team worked with us all along the way and we're great. The installers were absolutely awesome too! It's a great and fun team there and the price couldn't be beat! I can't wait to work with them again to finish the floors in the rest...
