Our second ๐ฅ visit was soooo much better! The last time we visited it was closed ๐ due to eagles nesting. There was an abandoned couch ๐๏ธ and trash in the parking ๐ ฟ๏ธ area. What an impressive improvement! Tidy, a porta potty, trash ๐๏ธ can and picnic ๐งบ tables available. There were bridges and a bench as well. The section of the path we traveled is mowed and rocks have been placed along the trail. You cannot see the river very well with all of the foliage. We noticed different species of birds, especially turkeys. We also observed a rabbit ๐ and squirrel ๐ฟ๏ธ run across our path. We watched airplanes โ๏ธ ascending and descending towards and away from the airport. It was an enjoyable walk and I want to come back and explore some more. I did walk across the railroad bridge. I do not know if it is still in use. There are no signs indicating either or. I would recommend basic caution. You do have great views of the Merrimack River.
